Let's talk prams...

Looking at prams/travel systems and have seen 4 we like. Just want feedback on any thoughts on these 4 or any we've missed - Oyster 2, i candy peach 3, jane epic or bugaboo chameleon. Advice and opinions welcome

What do you need it for? City or country? Buses or car boot?

What sort of terrain/type of area will you be using it?

As I said in our antenatal thread I will be getting the Bugaboo Cameleon as I don't find it heavy, it's easy to push, neat looking, I can fold it easily (important as I will be travelling alone) and once folded I can carry the individual parts easily.

You should go to a baby store that sells your shortlist and play around with them!!

Bugaboo are expensive I think. I've gone for a Quinny buzz Xtra. Looks good.

Thanks everyone, terrain is mainly town (cobbled) and coastal paths. Priorities are easy to move, adjustable handle, easy to put up and take down and pack up. Been to look at them apart from bugaboo and like all 3 hence asking for feedback, they all look good! X

Definitely not the bugaboo bee on cobbles! Coastal paths? Are they quite rugged? How about a mountain buggy?

I don't want anything too tank like as I'm only small! X

We went to john Lewis to push a few around and are going for the icandy 3 wheel all terrain - even though we live in Central London! I figure it will come in useful for walks/beach etc.

We've got an Oyster Max :) Can't wait to use it, haven't yet as baby isn't born yet. Imminent though!

Don't do what we did and spend loads on a pram/travel system (it was our splash out purchase) only to find that your baby is a Velcro who hates prams / lying down / being away from you.

We spent £700 on a travel system only to then have to spend £200 on assorted slings/carriers.

Velcro babies are surprisingly common, it's almost like you are their whole world and they hate being away from you :) I would advise only spending what is a reasonable amount for you and not gambling it as your big / expensive purchase

I've had an icandy peach for three years, about to use it for another 3 years with dc2, it has been a great investment and can't recommend it enough.

We brought an uppababy vista for our ds1 (who is 20 months) but now I am due ds2 in 3 weeks we have brought a I candy peach as it's super versatile haven't used as a double yet but highly recommend as a single pushchair

We are planning on getting the uppababy vista, it's still a Which best buy (I think!) carrycot can be used for overnight sleeping and comes with all the extras that you usually have to pay for with other travel systems.

Mountain - the bugaboo chameleon wouldn't be my choice if you need to travel alone. Don't get me wrong, we had one, and I fly lots alone with x2 children 1 year apart. But it was a pain being in two pieces very shortly as I would have to put baby in sling, everything in rucksack, train 18 month old to stay close, and carry the pram in two parts. We used until pram no longer used but bought almost 6 years ago now when much less choice of small nifty prams.

Today I would buy the baby zen yoyo 0+

We've got a Joolz Day that might be worth adding to your list as well. Super easy to get around in town in small spaces and the big back wheels mean it's great on rougher terrain too. It folds up pretty small although when using the carry cot you have to collapse it in two pieces. Handle is adjustable and carry cot could be used for occasional overnight sleeping when away (although not sure if this is recommended or not).

Mine's is ancient so I don't own any of those new fangled ones. Loads a very light weight these days (unlike my Silvercross which is getting used for baby no3!).
