I'm sure this has probably been asked before... but I'm just wondering if anyone on here has tried a support belt for PGP? If so, which one have you used and has it helped? My doctor/midwife keep suggesting I get one, but I have no idea where to start and don't want to spend money on one if it wont make any difference!

I was refered to a physio and they gave me one to bring home and use (along with some crutches). To be honest I only ended up wearing it for about a week as I went into labour early, but it definitely took the strain off. Could you ask to be refered? They also gave me some great exercises to do to strengthen the muscles around the abdomen.

Thanks. I've been referred, have an appointment on 11th May so its not too long to wait. Its a workshop though, so there will be 6 of us there together... not really sure what to expect!

I saw a physio at 34 wks with my first and she recommended a support which I am now using again with my second, she gave me a large tubi-grip as well but I had to get the support myself.
It was from a website called Promedics and it's the Maternity belt Style C, it was about 30 but I found it really useful, especially as I needed it again and was wearing it not long after 20 wks this time.

As the tubi-grip was being used by my OH for a rugby injury I got another from Amazon for 8, it's an Easi-grip size L which is a Large trunk size (J. K and L are all trunck in different sizes), worth trying out if you don't want to go for the more expensive belt supports.

I had to buy one from my physio for £45. I've worn it twice and it seemed to just hurt!

Plus my exercises were rubbish. All about my abdominal muscles which I can't really locate any more. And I'm paying for the physio!
