Obviously we've waited until 12 weeks and seen the baby wriggling and kicking now Grin

I'm allowing myself to finally get excited and stop worrying, but I feel like if I buy anything I will jinx myself stupid I know

When did everyone else think it was ok to buy little bits and bobs? I'm not talking a pram but maybe a pair of booties or a dummy, something small?

Congratulations Smile

We didn't shop for anything until our 20 week scan, but did buy our pram then as it was on half-price special offer and selling out rapidly (otherwise we'd have waited). We have been buying dribs and drabs of clothing, but nothing else much as we're saving the expensive purchases until nearer the due date.

Thank you, and congratulations on your babies too! Smile

I'm 6 weeks and bought a tiny swaddle blanket - I know it's early but I MC'd before and we were talking constantly about "what if..." I just wanted to do something to flip that mindset & start planning for the future.

I bough stuff from about 32 weeks on first and 40 wks on second. It's nice to leave some things to look forward to so buy things slowly!

We actually bought pram at 14 weeks as we don't live in the UK but had come back for a holiday and could buy cheaper there! It is personal choice really - I am not superstitious with thinking that buying things is going to jinx anything and the way I see it is that if anything were to go wrong then anything we have bought can just be put away and not looked at. But I know many people do not believe in buying things until later on. We haven't bought anything else at all yet as haven't got round to it but might buy the odd thing now as we see things we like - currently 17 weeks.

I've been buying stuff since before my BFP!

heatherxo · 03/05/2015 08:18

I bought my pram at around 16 weeks (this is my first)
I got it so early though as my baby is a twin, but we miscarried one, so I got it as a kind of "if we buy something then baby will stay".
I know its silly to think of like that but try telling that to an over-emotional, hormonal pregnant woman! Aha

With my first we bought a Moses basket at around 24 weeks as it was in the sale, then nothing until about 30 weeks but that was just because we didn't really have time until then. I'm now 31 weeks with my second and have bought an impractical frilly dress!

We went straight out after the 12 week scan and bought a little vest and sleepsuit set. Haven't really stopped buying since! If something comes up at a good price I'll get it. We are waiting till 20 week scan to order the nursery furniture and pram though.
