I am 7weeks+2 with my first after a long time TTC, so any new pains make me worry!! Today I got quite an acute pain in my abdomen on the right hand side. It feels like a stitch. is this normal or should I be worried?

There's lots of things going on down there at the minute. I think I've had something similar and I just put it down to ligaments stretching/changing. I'm sure everything is fine but if you are really worried give the EPU in your area a call. Take care x

Almost certainly round ligament pains. You can get them either side of the uterus. I've had them quite severely in my second pregnancy, and they feel exactly like a stitch.

It's the ligaments stretching and is a pain that brought me to my knees later on. Annoying but nothing to worry about.

However if you're worried there's nothing wrong with asking for reassurence from a doctor or midwife.

Thanks so much for the reassurance. I rang my doctor too and he said it didnt sound like anything to worry about. I'm booked in for my scan a week tomorrow so he said unless the pain gets really severe he will see me then! Probably won't stop worrying until I've had the scan, but appreciate all the reassurance!!

What the others said. Please don't worry. There will be lots more minor discomforts on the way to your lovely baby.
