Ice chomping craving...anyone else?

We are expecting no:3, already have dd and ds, we don't know what we are having now although I've now convinced myself I'm having a boy as I've started crunching ice, bags full by the day...had the exact craving with my son...anyone else have this craving and if so what was the sex of your baby?

Me too, I'm having a boy (also DC3)

My ice craving has slowly turned in to soil cravings (not actually eaten that!)

Turns out I have low iron, now on tablets.

Get your iron checked!

I had this when I was pregnant, and had a boy.

I also had anaemia...

Like pp have said craving ice is a sign of anaemia, go to your midwife and discuss supplementation. The liquid stuff is nicer than the tablets.

I munched on ice with my two boys but didn't know about the link with anaemia. I used to choose our restaurant or pub depending in the texture of the ice in my water. Our local used to give me a full ice bucket of my own

Seeing midwife tomorrow so will mention to her...my teeth is in bits and my freezer is overworked! any baby girls after chomping on ice?

I'm having a boy, on iron tablets and also crave crunching ice!

I craved ice in my first pregnancy. In fact DP went to KFC to get me a cup of ice during labour! I had a little boy. I was also slightly anaemic.

I'm craving ice in this pregnancy too. I go through a big party bag in about 2 days. I don't know the sex yet and I'm not anaemic according to recent blood tests.

I prefer Ice cold drink in general though to be honest.

So the rule of thumb here is boys made you crave ice, or boys make you anaemic ha!

Me and my sister in law used to crunch ice like mad and could get through a full 2kg bag together and turned out we both had boys, I'm now 20wks with a girl and don't even like ice in my drinks even though before bfp I couldn't enjoy a drink unless it had a few ice cubes

Had it with 2 out of 4 of my children, one was a girl, one was a boy BUT was anaemic with them both too so I would definitely check that out.

Each time I've been pregnant (x3) I've craved ice cold milk with loads of ice bobbing about in it. I never had an iron problem and had two DDs, followed by DS. I would go so far as to say each pregnancy was almost identical...not sure that helps anyone's theories

I chomped on ice in both pg. My post pg teeth are awful, 4 have shattered since Dd was born 3 years ago. Dentist puts it down to a lot of vomiting (I had hyperemisis in both pg) and chewing ice.

Crunched through ice by the bag-load. Had a girl! I was anaemic though.

I had this with my DD - I was anaemic too. I bet you are too! Definitely get your bloods tested

Ooooohhhhh I ruined my back teeth crunching ice when I had DS!

I would have robbed a bank if I needed to to get at ice.

Wasn't anaemic though.

Not ice for me but I'd have commited a murder for a twister ice lolly
