I have had low platelets in three of my four pregnancies. Platelets renew every couple of weeks so regular blood tests are necessary, all my births have been sections and I was warned that if they were too low I would need a GA instead of spinal as it's safer. After speaking with my bosses, ones a surgeon the other an anesthetist because I was worried about what the midwives were saying they both said that low platelets only start getting fun when you drop consistently below 70, mine were running at 95. Hope this helps
