How early can Pre-eclampsia show?

I've got myself a little bit concerned.
I'm 14+6 with twins.
I've been suffering from awful headaches for the last couple of weeks, it's progressively got worse to the point where I've been off work the last 2 days because it's so painful I've been physically sick and had blurred vision.
Went to see my GP as I couldn't get in to see my midwife, they checked my blood pressure which was within the normal range, but my urine sample came back at +2 protein.
I know pre-eclampsia doesn't usually effect people until the 3rd trimester, I just wondered if it could kick in earlier, especially with it being a twin pregnancy?

It can - but the books/internet say it's very rare before 20 weeks. Have you told your GP about the headaches and vision? They might want to check you again.

Poor you, hope it clears up and is NOT pe.

Yes I told my GP on Monday which is why my BP and urine was checked. He was concerned enough to call the hospital, but they said there's nothing that can be done at this stage, so to symptomatically treat the headaches and ignore the protein for the time being.
