Hiya all this is my third preg and i am 33+4 weeks, with my first i remember having the show and the second i don't remember
My problem is that the last day or so (sorry if tmi) when i go to the toilet i'm losing creamy coulered 'blobs' just tiny bits at a time but am just wondering if this could be the show coming away gradually, if it can do that. My last dd was 4 weeks early so might just be a bit paranoid. thanks in advance xx xx

sounds like it... your very early, id ring the maternity unit at the hospital about it.

i had this the second time for about 2 weeks before ds2 arrived. i think it is your body just getting ready, it's not the show i dont think and it doesnt mean the baby will come early.
im sure someone else will post soon enough.
that's just my personal experience, i dont know if it is 'correct' or not iyswim?!

congrats btw- im not 'allowed' a third....

A show is normally, a clear mucus, (reminds me of snot) It usually has flecks of old or fresh blood in it as it is the plug in the cervix. If you were 4 weeks early then it could be. A show doesn't always signal the onset of Labour though it just shows your cervix is softening. I had a show at 38 weeks with my second pg. Dd was finally born at 42 weeks by induction.

Mention it to your MW, she may shed some light on it for you.

you do produce a lot more discharge in later pregnancy which is easy to confuse with your show

however, as your last baby was 4 weeks early...this could be a sign of the cervix beginning to efface & dilate in preparation for labour..........the show doesn;t have to be bloody ,it can be a lump or more like a snotty dishcarge (!) .......it tends to be clear....

but bearing in mind your history..give labour ward a call......!

Thanks for all your replies, i spoke to my midwife on the phone this morning and she said as long as things stayed the same ie. no blood or loss of water, then i'll be ok to wait and see her at my next app a week today, and if anything happens i've to go to triage at the maternity hospital.Reassured me that baby will more than likely not be on his way yet!! thanks again xx xx
