Rhinitis?

Since the beginning of February I've had what feels like a constant cold. Apparently it sounds like rhinitis. Is there anything I can use for this? My OH is getting annoyed at my constant sneezing every time I wake up and I'm getting fed up of having to empty my bin full of tissues and buy toilet rolls cos I'm going through them so quick!!

poor you, it's hideous. these are the things that helped me a bit, especially if you do them all together:

  • hit boots and get yourself a saline douche and the calpol drops that you can rub in the nostrils of babies under 6 months old. those are safe to use. they are not magic, like otrivine, but they do help over time.
  • run the shower until the bathroom is steaming hot and then sit in the steam.
  • chew airwaves gum.
  • prop yourself up with lots of pillows.
  • if it gets bad, so that you can't sleep well, you could try hiring a dehumidifier, which apparently helps a lot. also there are some things your doctor can prescribe if you get desperate. but hopefully you won't reach that stage. mine cleared up after a week or so, but i am keeping everything crossed that it doesn't come back.

The saline sprays are very useful, there's one called Sterimar which is good.

However when I had rhinitis a few years ago when pregnant I was allowed to continue using my prescribed Nasonex, so it could be worth asking your GP if you are able to have something like that.
