Do you find that if you are having a lot of gas that the baby inside you gets more active?

Changed my name for this one!

yes, my stomach contents definitely disrupt/stimulate my uterine contents.

But twiglet the fartometer registers quite low and I'm SURE i'm having a boy....

sponge · 30/04/2004 16:29

I had a girl last time and I'm havong a boy this time and have been a complete bag of wind with both.
It's got to the point where dh asks if I've farted and I just say probably as I can't keep track any more

tillymint · 16/05/2004 09:52

oh sponge, me too!

coppertop · 16/05/2004 09:58

What are the chances of this thread making it on to the home-page?

eddm · 16/05/2004 10:36

I had this too! Even more embarrassing now ds is here, every time I fart, dh asks if that was me or does ds need changing?

vivie · 16/05/2004 22:05

I've been farting non-stop since conceiving.

Levanna · 16/05/2004 23:33

Tiny DD inside enjoys doing what seems to be an energetic version of the 'hokey cokey' non stop and as I'm urm.... farting non stop too (so it seems!) I'm not sure whether the two are related. (Unless of course she IS dancing to the beat!).
I recently worked out why I keep returning from a few hours at my MIL's house with awfully painful trapped wind. I can only assume my etiquettometer is barring me from performing the entirely necessary in public!
Definately a case of 'beter in than out' though, I think!

sibble · 17/05/2004 02:31

me too, had to leave a shop last week, as DS announced in a VERY loud voice - what is that smell mummy did your bottom do a fart - I said no (embarassed) but he was insisting it was me (it was ) and gagging. Thing is have to go back as had just found my sister a birthday pressie - just need to check the assistants are different.

Oh bugger - and here was I thinking it went away soon. Also been farting since day 1 and am truly fed up with it. DD doesn't even comment anymore -and fart talk is normally a big joke with her.

kittyb · 17/05/2004 22:29

visiting time in hospital after ds born - farting away in front of all these visitors, fil too - just had to shrug and say "I've just given birth, theres really nothing I can do about it"!

highlander · 17/05/2004 23:00

before I was pregnant I had the most hideous bowel in the world. But, I actually feel better now. I don't know if its because I'm making a bigger effort to eat healthily - virtually no junk food and smaller portions.

On top of that, I'm convinced having a nicer breakfast helps. I used to be a toast and butter (lots of it) girl, but I've changed to melon, granola and organic natural yoghurt. I don't parp nearly as much as I used to and my bowel movements are much more regular.

But then I'm only 22 weeks so maybe the parp monster will return

bunnyrabbit · 18/05/2004 15:57

Thank you for cheeering me up.. sitting at work with tears streaming down my face now.. hope no-one comes to see me 'cos I shall just giggle insanely...

bunnyrabbit · 18/05/2004 15:58

Oh and yes, I too was extremely active in the activity of expelling bodily gases when preggers.
