Brown blood at 20 weeks

Woke up this morning to some brown blood, am 20 weeks today... Called midwife and she said not to worry unless it's red and / or heavier. Although I am worried. Anyone else experienced this? I also had some heavier red bleeding at 11 weeks and the scan showed a blood clot but everything else was ok... I don't want to Google too much as just did a bit and read about preterm labour which set me off!

Brown blood is old blood, so whatever caused it is done and gone with no ill effects. I had a bright red bleed at 20 weeks and it was nothing, most likely my cervical erosion acting up.

I had the same at around the same time. I'd stupidly spent the day before crawling around on my hands and knees ripping up skirting board. I subsequently found out at my scan that I had a low lying placenta, so I'd probably bumped it a bit. Have you had your scan yet?

My scan is on Monday, fortunately! Still feels like an age away when I'm anxious... Pregnancy is so stressful, there's so little we can do to control things!

I know it's impossible but do try not to worry. As Foggy said, brown blood is old blood, and if you've had a clot it might just be that. Good luck with your pregnancy. Flowers

Thank you! Feeling exhausted but it does seem to have stopped. Lots of twinges and pains but have no idea if they are new or I'm just noticing them more! Trying not to worry too much.
