Pregnant but bleeding

I found out on Tuesday that I am pregnant. On Wednesday I started getting cramps and then bleeding. It's more blood when I wipe other then lots on a pad. I went to the doctors yesterday and they have said this is normal and to wait a week to see what happens but still presume I am pregnant. The not knowing is awful and I dread going to the bathroom because of the blood. Has anyone else had this??
I was on honeymoon when I found out and had to fly back on Wednesday night, which is when I had the most amount of blood. Since then it's been like having a period. I can't say that I have any other signs of pregnancy either. The only reason I did a rest was because I was late. Thanks in advance from a scared first time pregnant lady Confused

Hi Hun, I wouldn't have been worried as it could have been spotting, but since you have said its been like having a period I would call the Early pregnancy unit and they might want you to come in for a scan to see what's happening, I do know people who have been pregnant and continued to have full blown periods but it's definately something needs checking if you are pregnant take care x

Hello Kem, how far along are you?

Only reason I ask is because I only found out I was pregnant at 8 weeks because I had a period like bleed at about 4/5 weeks so I assumed I wasn't pregnant.

I'm not sure what caused it but I'm 14 weeks no with no problems or complications so please try not to worry x

Thank you - I thought this is what the doctor should have suggested not just "leave it for a week and see what happens" ????
It's been a horrible 3 days - I just want to know so I can get my head straight either way x

Yes I did one yesterday and it still said pregnant but I have read that after a miscarriage you can still test positive for days even weeks Sad

Do call them. I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks back in October. My GP was also a bit rubbish so I self referred to EPU, and got a scan.

Do hope this is not the case for you, but definitely needs checking out. Try to stay calm, it could be just fine.
