Diarrhea after whooping cough vaccination

Hi, I had the whooping cough vaccination this morning and I've just had really bad diarrhea. I wasn't aware this was one of the side effects and wondered if anyone else has had this?

Thanks, Sarah

I haven't had it yet, two of my pregnant friends have and they've both had vomiting and diarrhea after it. I'm not going to have the jab.

I'd imagine some diarrohea isn't too bad a price to pay with the alternative Annie...

Yes I had the vaccination about 4 days ago and had the runs for about 3 days after, suppose it's just a side effect Blush

Thank you for your replies. I feel reassured I'm not the only one who had this side effect, but I'm so sorry MSMB that you had it for 3 days, you poor thing. I found it a really hard decision whether to have the vaccine, but whooping cough can be so serious in a newborn baby, I decided to have it in the end. From what I have read it is supposed to be safe in pregnancy and it is also given to children from age 4 onwards.

Yeah I had diarrhoea, a bad cold and vomiting for days afterwards haha lovely. But it's normal i suppose.

Yes-diarrhoea is one of the side effects-I had it plus a god awful headache for two days after then nothing. A very very small price to pay for the alternative.

Be aware that the vaccine also contains diphtheria, tetanus, polio and hib protection so is definitely worth it but does explain some of the minor side effects!

I had the whooping cough vaccine yesterday and have felt absolutely rubbish today, diarrhoea, aching limbs, headache. The nurse said that all of these were normal side effects and should only last a day or two.
