Currently 11w today and my skin is just atrocious. I never had spots at all in my younger years and they have all came at once! Little pimples ... dry patches.. oily patches.. HELP!! I have only tried clinique 3 step wash (no good) and no7 day moisturiser (also no good)

Any top tips?

My skin was terrible in the first trimester. I used to just get home from work, wash my face with a gentle face wash and then exfoliate three times a week. I also got a moisturiser that was good for sensitive skin

Amyyy27 · 24/04/2015 14:19

Will try that thanks! What did you exfoliate with can i ask?

I use the Simple products, they do facial wash and wipes specifically for spot prone skin and their exfoliator wasn't harsh like some can be.

Have never got on well with Clinique, found it very harsh

Yes me too that was the problem with mine!

I use there gentle cleansing gel wash, and active moist moisturisers. They are great products, a tad expensive but last ages, and just lovely and moisturising without being greasy!x

I popped a few drops of tea tree oil (on the safe list) into my daily moisturiser (Simple brand). It's helped to keep the spots to a minimum

Amyyy27 · 25/04/2015 09:03

Ah good tip thanks :)

My skin was horrendous the first half of my pregnancy - I quit using all of my expensive products and used clearasil wash and moisturiser for a few weeks and my skin totally cleared up. Plus I've been left with no marks or scarring which I was concerned about too x

Amyyy27 · 28/04/2015 07:26

Oh great, thanks! :)

I went for a facial and subsequently bought some Eve Taylor soothing products, which really helped. My skin seemed to veer from flaky and lizard like one week to really oily the next. Ditching foundation also helped although I felt a bit naked without it...

Amyyy27 · 28/04/2015 07:39

Yeah i have ditched foundation too begrudgingly! Might treat myself to a facial thanks :)

Cheap and cheerful - st Ives apricot scrub three times a week.

Slightly less cheap, but lovely, I'm using elemis moisturiser/ cleanser/toner.

For the rest of me, I'm slapping on whatever I have in the house, in industrial quantities because I cannot get over how bloody dry my skin is ! Cocoa butter is good, as is monoi especially after a bath or shower.

Amyyy27 · 28/04/2015 09:34

Oh i used to love that scrub, never crossed my mind! Good shout thanks :) im trying the simple moisturiser at the moment but my hairdesser sells elemis if that fails!
