Bad luck

On Sunday my parked car was written off by an uninsured driver I was really upset seeing my car crumpled up and realising we could have been inside! Thank goodness we weren't! Yesterday... My house burnt down!!! This sounds like I'm making it up but being 8 weeks away from giving birth I have no car and me and my husband have moved in with my mum. Fortunately we are all ok, we saved a lot of the babies things but I can't stop being emotional and feeling so down Sad I know all material things can be replaced but I just wanted to enjoy the final few weeks of pregnancy. We have a mountain of insurance claims, paperwork etc to sort through now it's horrible.

Oh you poor thing, I can't imagine what that must be like. Of course the main things is that you were not hurt but it is a devastating thing to happen and especially when you are close to giving birth which should be a time that you are able to rest. I hope everything goes well for you now.

I can't believe your bad luck! But the main thing is you still have your health and no doubt a good support network around you. Flowers

I had a fire at my home, I wasn't pregnant but I was a single parent of an 18 month old and we lost everything, it's a horrible thing to go through and so heartbreaking but you will look back on this one day like I do now xxx

Aww i sorry to hear of your 'bad luck'. It wont bring your car or house bad but look at what you do still have, your health, husband, baby still ok and family who welcome you in to live with at this difficult time. Baby's birth is the light at the end of the tunnel.
I work in Insurance and it needn't be laborious -it's there job to do all the running round so just fill in the forms as best possible and then THEY should do the running around and deal with settling your claim (thats what they're paid to do...Smile)
And come onto mumsnet to vent -we're all looking up for you Flowers
