Out of breath

I have just discovered/acknowledged a new "symptom". I can't walk briskly-ish and talk on the phone. I get so out of breath that it makes me nauseous. I had noticed out of breathness the last couple of days but my walk'n'talk this evening was just ridiculous. I also become out of breath when going up stairs. Is that a normal pregnancy thing or a cause for concern?

I quit smoking in August. I'm a long distance walker. I'm a bit podgier than usual (now size 14, BMI approx 26).

Any thoughts?

I'm 33 weeks and also breathless, my iron count is low but the dr said that it's unlikely to go once my iron count is back up. He basically said it's one of those things and that now it's making me dizzy I should think about going on maternity leave early. That's the last thing I want to do, I want as much time off with my baby as possible. I have a toddler and taking time off now would mean he'd still need looking after by other people as I'm knackered, it's not fair on him. I wanted a few weeks when I could spend lots of time with him before the new baby arrives and I'm just not up to it.

So, it's definitely normal. Very annoying though, I was quite fit before I got pregnant and I don't think I've felt this unhealthy for a long time :(.

Before I knew I was pregnant I was incredibly out of breath. At the time I thought it was a chest infection but I had no other symptoms, now I think it is was because of the pregnancy.

I am also a long distance walker but now at 28 weeks I can't generally walk longer than 45 minutes without needing a sit down and I'm very out of breath in the evening when I go to bed.

I was hoping to do a half marathon walk in September but that feels rather unrealistic when I can't walk to the bus stop briskly and talk to hubby on the phone at the same timen when I have no bump and I'm only 5 weeks along.
