5mm embryo no heart beat, anyone had the same?

Hi went for early scan, but can't see a heart beat at the moment, I am going back in a week to scan again, as the nurse said the guidelines are 6mm with no heart beat then I guess the baby is not going to develop any further, this is my second pg 1st ended in mmc, has anyone has a embryo this size and did not have a heart beat then when they went back it was there, any help good or bad would be helpful, as I really don't think it will turn out good. how many weeks are you? sometime the heartbeat not visible until 7 weeks or later?

My midwife told me at the booking in session that you could not always hear the heartbeat before 6 weeks. Unfortunately I had bad news at my 12 weeks scan, hope everything goes well for you.

i had an early scan at 6wks 1day, and saw a heartbeat, but the nurse told me that if they had managed to book me in just 3 days earlier they would not have seen the heartbeat.
really hope you get good news next week.

I had an early scan at 5 1/2 weeks and there was no heart beat, one week later there was. Good luck.

I am sure I had the same experience. Couple of weeks later there was.

Thanks Girls for the advice, had scan today and bad news, has not really grown but can't do a d&C until friday, as they need to scan again, because it has grown .5 mm in a week, so they can't do a termination until then. I am not going to give up, will try again in a few months I guess, this is my second pregnancy with no baby at the end of it. So gutted really. Maybe I'll be third time lucky. Did not realise how hard it really is to have a baby.
