I'm being sent for an early scan due to bleeding. Just wondered what to expect and if I should have shaved my legs!

ive had 9 week scan twice. first one was mmc where i had to have it internally. second one was new pregnancy where i had had a bleed and it was external. could see what looked like a jelly baby with a heart flicking away.

think it all just depends what they can see tbh they will likely try abdominal first though.

fwiw the internal scan is fine. i didnt want one but was so relieved to empty my bladder i was glad of it tbh. good luck with your scan Thanks

autumn where are you based and have you experienced this before? are you comfortable with what they have suggested?

Fattycow · 23/04/2015 21:51

It depends on how much they can see. They usually start with external, but if they cannot see everything they want to see, they will do an internal.

I had my 6 week as an internal and 8 week as an external Which was ununbelievably clear. Don't worry about either way, they're painless and comfortable. Having a smear is worse! Good luck x

So sorry for your loss, Autumn, I've been through similar. Be gentle on yourself, it can take a while.
