So it's a week or so since the first positive test result, and I think, although I'm super aware it's really early days, I'm finally beginning to believe it's real! With this realisation has come a bit of anxiety - worries about miscarriage/pregnancy generally/birth/the rest of it, which I guess is normal right? I guess aprehensively excited would be a good description.

Anyway just thought I'd see if there were any other first-timers at a similar stage (5 and a half weeks ish) and feeling the same?

Also, when are you planning on telling people? We've told a couple of close friends and my sister, planning on telling parents etc after first midwife appointment next week, then probably the wider world after 12 weeks.

I'm in the same boat! I'm 4 weeks pregnant now. Keep poas to convince myself I'm actually pregnant!!

We told closest friends and parents now and will just announce at 12 weeks I think.

It's so exciting! Grin

Husband already fed up of my using the 'but I'm pregnant' line to get out of chores!!! Grin

Angilina - same boat. (we have the same dates, yes? Last period 16.03, positive test on 15.04? ) Worried about mc. Talking inwardly to the "bean" and telling it to hold on strong.

First-timer too. I go through many high and lows in one day. "I'm in pain. I'm nauseous. I want a bump. Shit, I already love the thing, if it goes away it'll be awful. is the pain good or bad? oh no, I'm not in pain any more. Is lack of pain a bad sign?" And so on and so forth until bedtime.

How are you coping with the inner "mentalness"?

Hello. I'm 4.6 weeks today after ivf, it was my 4th ivf after 7 years of trying so still in shock. Got first scan in 2 weeks. Just wanting to get some signs to reassure me. Congrats on your BFPs

FlorIxora · 22/04/2015 10:43

Congrats Lauren! Is it your first pregnancy?

Lauren83 · 22/04/2015 12:55

Thankyou, yes it's been a long 7 years! I had some worries last week when the digis werent picking it up despite the frer saying I was and some cheap tests have been worryingly faint so I'm cautious for a chemical, will be glad when I have my scan

Congratulations newly pregnant mums!

I'm 20 weeks pregnant now and I really didn't believe I was pregnant until the first scan 2 months ago and we saw a baby...with a heartbeat! In the first 3 months I looked after myself best I could and basically just waited it out! I totally get the anxiety! It's natural to worry when it means so much, but I think now at 20 weeks I've just given in to the fact that worrying will not change the course of this pregnancy for the better. My friend who's little girl is now 1 told me your body knows exactly what it needs to do so chill the f* out! It's my mantra now!

Hope everyone has healthy happy pregnancies!

Congratulations OP.

I'm 33 weeks and it's still sinking in!

OMC1 · 22/04/2015 15:16

Congratulations everybody! Smile

I am 23+5 and it still hasn't really sunk in properly! Hehe! Wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies!

FlorIxora · 22/04/2015 15:20

Koala, i hope it sinks in fast, you're running out of time. Grin

Thanks lolcatz. Chill the f* out is good advice. I guess part of me wants to hold off "if I don't get too attached, I'll be ok" When I read that however, I can tell it's complete dross.

AngilinaB · 22/04/2015 22:18

Thanks and congratulations everyone! Good to know I'm not alone with the ridiculous thoughts Grin
