Hernia - experiences?

I've just seen the GP about a small, hard, lump under my belly button. He said it was a small hernia and was relatively common. I'm 33 weeks. He said it might get worse as my bump continues to expand (it also might not) and that it may or may not be an issue after the birth.
Just wondered if anyone had experiences of this?

Hello :-)

Yes, I have a small hernia in my groin from childhood. I was referred to have an ultrasound to check the size and likelihood of it causing issues. I was basically told they have no way of knowing and it's just a 'wait and see' kind of thing. So far, no problems at all and I'm 36 weeks today.

Because yours is around the front, I wonder if the doc may be able to recommend some kind of medical bump support if it does start to cause an issue?

Thanks, I was starting to wonder if anyone else out there had the same issue as can't find much online. I had no signs of any issue before. The doctor was fairly dismissive about it all. It isn't really painful unless I prod it. More worried about what will happen when I give birth (with all the pushing) or it getting bigger as I expand!
The joys of pregnancy!
