Am 34 + 4 For the past week I have been feeling a bit crampy and it seems to be increasing every day. This afternoon in particular. About 330 till about an hour away this afternoon I had about 3 really intense braxton hicks. Enough to stop me in my tracks and to wake me up earlier when I had a little snooze. Not painful as such but very uncomfortable. Have had a dull ache in my lower back all day too.
Baby active as normal.
Would you call the mw or not? We live quite rural although unit is only 20 mins away. Thing is mil would need to have 3 children and she lives 45 mens away so don't want to be wasting anyone's time if it's a false alarm?!!
May see how I get on and if get any more pains will call the mw.

So today i am 34 + 5. Yesterday afternoon i started to get a dull pain in my back and some very intense braxton hicks. I lay down on the sofa and they eased off.
Went to bed around 10pm and then woke at 1am with a tightening which felt like a labour pain, then another came 20 mins later and basically on and off till about 5am this morning where i was falling asleep then the tightening was waking me up.
Managed to fall back asleep then around 7am i woke up and had another 3 intense tightenings/braxton hicks - they are not really really painful but enough to make me stop in my tracks and keep still whilst it passes.
Went to day assesent this morning and put on montor for 10 mins and had 2 intense tightenings. Tested for water infection came back negative. Doc came and did a swim to see if labour was iminant test came back negative too so basically means I have a very low chance of going into labour in the next 10 days. Plus cervix was high and closed so good there too.
Told to go home and rest and if gets worse to come back.
Eased off this afternoon but in the past 40 mins they have came back painful and intense tightenings from my back spreading round the front.
This is baby 4 so I know what contractions feel like and these are very similar. Again not really really painful but enough fir me to have to breathe through them.
Anyone had similar??
Thanks also in childbirth but forum quiet so thought would post here too

I've got no experience in rhodium afraid (24+3 with DC1) but bumping for you!

birchwoods · 21/04/2015 20:16

Stupid autocorrect! No experience in this I'm afraid...not sure where the rhodium came from!

applecore0317 · 21/04/2015 20:18

Did they do a urine test? I had similar symptoms last week and it turned out to be a urine infection, the back pain was horrible, couldn't sit still. Tummy was also tight

applecore0317 · 21/04/2015 20:21

Am 34+6 btw

3rdbump · 21/04/2015 20:35

applecore - yes they did, they thought it could of been a water infection but tested urine and came back negative.
:/ pains are back again now

ARGH been awake most of the night with contraction pains, at one point they got really strong and intense every 10 mins for a good hour. Managed to have about 4 hours of broken sleep - been awake for about 30 mins now and so far so good, seems to have settled a bit.

It sounds pretty unpleasant! I've heard that third and subsequent labours can be very stop-start, even if the first ones were quick, so perhaps it is just your body gearing up? Hope you can manage to get some sleep.

Number3cometome · 22/04/2015 09:26

I have heard that the more children you have the stronger the braxtons get, it's just your body gearing up.

I have certainly had a lot more much stronger braxton hicks in this pregnancy, sometimes they do verge on painful and repeat for hours on end.
