Well just what the title says! I had to have an extra anti D earlier on in my pregnancy as i has a slight bleed.
I have had a big show this morning that was particuarly bloody do i have to ring up and get another anti D?

I think you might have to go in and be checked, I did when I had a bloody show and I am Rh neg

....i;d call labour ward and they can reassure you if you need another anti d or not.....i think the anti d injection gives several weeks 'protection' as it were..but i would definitely call labour ward ...esp if labour might be (or might not be!) too far away...

Hiya i'm Rh neg and this is my third preg, as far as i'm aware the one at 34weeks is to cover you till the birth then you get another after you have given birth, am almost 100% the anti D lasts at least a few weeks, but to be on the safe side i would ring the m/wife and checkwith them, good luck! xx

yes, think risj is greater with 2nd. (I'm no expert tho !!)

Whizzz · 07/11/2006 20:20

risk - that should say !!

misdee · 07/11/2006 20:24

yes, but did u have the anti-d after your 1st pregnancy, was the 1st baby rh+ or rh-?

at your booking in appointment with the midwife they will book your blood tests for antibody checks and will tell you when you need the anti-d.

i think that if you suffer any bleeds after 12 weeks, then you will need the jab. (but i could be wrong)

7up · 07/11/2006 20:25

i had anti d with my first but not my second, dont know why, i thought i should have

Get jabbed in the bum too...its a lot less painful than having the jab in your arm !
