I've kept a symptom diary of my first trimester, which ends tomorrow, and thought I'd share it here for anyone who wants to see what someone else has had! Obviously we are all different, but hope this is interesting!

First trimester

Week 4: extreme fatigue on 9 DPO, very sore right nipple since 5 DPO, BFP on 10 DPO, constant menstrual like cramps, breathlessness
Week 5: fatigue, sore nipples, strong menstrual like cramps off and on, breathlessness
Week 6: some fatigue, breathlessness, some nausea.
Week 7: Ab. So. Lute. Ly. debilitating fatigue, nausea, vomiting, paralysing fatigue, signed off work, breathlessness
Week 8: feeling alright, occasional nausea, fatigue
Week 9: sudden onset of heartburn, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, bloating, fatigue, out of breath
Week 10: vomiting, nausea, extreme heartburn, acidity and indigestion - nothing can be kept down, then improves.
11: distinct bump towards the evenings. Belly itching at times.
12: occasionally itching belly and boobs. Breathlessness. Odd day of complete exhaustion.

Total weight gain: 2 kgs I.e. 4.4 lbs.

Ugh sounds familiar. Now 21 weeks and little improvement :( it's probably nothing to worry about but I think itching belly can be a sign of a liver disorder called obstetric cholestasis. Sorry, don't want to scaremonger, just worth keeping an eye on it it it worsens.

Cornberry I think that's a little alarmist - a quick google tells me that obstetric cholestasis is most likely after week 24, and the itching tends to be severe, and concentrated on the hands and feet. Belly/other itching is normal in pregnancy as the skin is stretching.

Mine is simply skin stretching and an occasional itchiness here or there. That's all.

Hi Focus,
Great to know I'm not alone in thee symptoms! I've been very tired from around 9wks (now 11weeks) and my DP keeps suggesting twins as I'm so tired but I think it's normal...I keep telling him I'm growing a person of course Im going to be tired!

My first symptom was a sore nipple too!

Onwards and upward for the 2nd trimester I say! :-)

Agreed - as said I didn't want to cause anxiety for nothing. Just think it can help to be informed. On the NHS website it says mild itching can sometimes be a sign. Apologies focus don't mean to be alarmist. I'm sure it's totally normal.
