I'm 39 and 16 weeks on pregnancy no 3.

Last week was in Spain and am 99% certain DD5 had slapped cheek virus (red rashy cheeks, sore joints and tummy and itching). She's fine now and wasn't concerned at time to be honest (remember DS8 having it some years back). However am now worrying about my exposure to it. Got home yesterday and ive felt awful ever since. Exhausted, bad headache, mild sore throat and today when I went to the toilet there was a little blood when I wiped. Anybody have experience of anything similar? Am quite anxious this evening. Thanks in advance for any comments.

Have you been tested for immunity? I had the test when pg with dc3, as two young DC already meant I was considered at risk.

Can you call midwife, see if it was checked in your early bloods? If you have been exposed and aren't immune, there isn't much they can do, but I would try to find out so you can (hopefully) stop worrying.

Sorry you are having this worry, fingers crossed it turns out OK.

DS had slapped cheek while I was pregnant with DD. Had to have a blood test at my GP to check if I was immune. 60% of adults are immune iirc. If you're not they will send you for an extra scan.

Thanks both. Haven't been tested for immunity but will call GP in the morning. Hoping im immune due to eldest having it a few years ago and the reason I feel crap now is just coincidence.
