I sneeze a lot due to allergies but twice today I have noticed that when I sneeze I pass a little bit of urine. Does this mean I'm stuck like this now for the rest of my life ? Upset and embarrassed. Can't even tell my partner.

No!

It is common in pregnancy because of the weight on your bladder. Keep doing the exercises and there is a good chance it will go back to normal afterwards.

Just a pg thing. I had a chest infection when pg with dtds and had the same issue with coughing. I was mortified. I did tell dh... and made him buy me tenna lady as I was too embarrassed - he's a good man! Keep doing your pelvic floor exercises but you'll be fine Flowers

m0therofdragons · 19/04/2015 19:01

Oh I can't trampoline any more though

gaggiagirl · 19/04/2015 19:12

anxious I'm pregnant too and last week while walking DD to school I sneezed with great force and a fair bit off wee came out. I was half way between home and school so there was nothing I could do about it. Thank god for black leggings.
Anyway you aren't alone!

anxiousannie10 · 19/04/2015 19:21

I haven't been given any exercises to do, maybe I should start Googling what excercises to do.

I wee myself a little bit most days: usually sneezing or coughing if my bladder is full. I'm 18 weeks with DC3. The problem went away once the previous 2 were born, unless I had a really really bad cough. And I really did virtually no exercises.

MaccaPaccaismyNemesis · 19/04/2015 19:31

It's just one of those pregnancy things. My advice is to buy some tena pads and not worry too much. Time for pelvic floor exercises! Smile

anxiousannie10 · 19/04/2015 19:38

Oh no, tena pads Blush
Will try to find out about exercises.
Thanks

Pelvic floor exercises are the ones you need.

MaccaPaccaismyNemesis · 19/04/2015 19:43

Having been through birth related incontinence tena pads are no big deals. Better to have pads than wet trousers!

The pelvic floor exercises you need to focus on are 10 short squeezes in and out. And then hold for 10 seconds at a time. You have to imagine your pelvic floor starting in your rectum and pulling through your stomach.

MaccaPaccaismyNemesis · 19/04/2015 19:45

You need to do loads of these, both sitting and standing. My physio said that you need to not do them when you are driving etc but concentrate on doing them. You need to be able to hold your finger with your pelvic muscles.

happygojo · 19/04/2015 19:45

There are lots of apps annie that tell you about kegel exercises. It is totally normal though and always a good idea to exercise your pelvic floor especially when pregnant. Good luck xxx

gingerbreadmam · 19/04/2015 19:52

glad to see this. im 14 weeks and for the last 3 or 4 weeks my liner is covered in pee. i wear one anyway for personal reasons and i kp noticing this.

ive started the pelvic floor exercises so will hopefully get better soon.

MSMB · 19/04/2015 19:59

This happened to me and I stupidly thought it was my waters breaking early and had a mad flap, calling my midwife... Only to be reassured Id just wet myself Blush I'm assured it happens to lots of people but I was so mortified!!!

anxiousannie10 · 19/04/2015 20:05

i worried it was amniotic fluid too, i smell just to be sure Blush pregnancy has turned me into a crazy worrier!

Christelle2207 · 19/04/2015 21:47

I had this towards the end of my first pg and since about 20 weeks in my second. Suffered a bit after dc1 was born but it did sort itself out after lots of PFEs and a fee weeks. Dc2 not born yet!

IfYouWereARiverIdLearnToFloat · 19/04/2015 23:39

You could ask your midwife for a referral to antenatal physio. They can give you advice & make sure you're doing pelvic floor exercises correctly.

Roseybee10 · 20/04/2015 02:02

This happened to me around 14-16 weeks both times. Didn't happen again. Get on those exercises though.

hestialou · 20/04/2015 06:49

Happens to me when being being sick too. Have been doing kegel and seems better
