Hi,

I am 8 weeks and 3 days pregnant, my morning sickness started last Thursday but two days ago I notice it had reduced a lot and now im not even being sick. I still have a little bit of nausea now and then but far from the amount I was getting before. I'm quite worried about this and wondered if there's any other mums who have had this happen to them?

Thank you

Hi Hollie, my sickness started at similar time to you and although it carried on for a while its now reducing as hormones/placenta etc. take over.
Remember that everyone is different, some women don't even get sickness. As you're still feeling nauseous then hormones are still at play but if worried contact your midwife to talk it through with you.

Thank you sophiaslullaby, I've got my first appointment with my midwife this Tuesday so will let her no. I have still got food aversions which is a good sign!

Yes, me! Started at 6 weeks and then really died down from 8-9 weeks. Then bam, back it came and has been on/off until now (13 weeks). Enjoy it while you can, it'll probably be back soon! Smile

Oh, and I had a scan last week - all fine and dandy.

sophiaslullaby · 18/04/2015 16:35

I was going ti say it could then come back! Mine calmed down and i was all happy but nooo...if i dont put food in my stomach quick enough in the morning i don't feel sick, i AM sick. That only started at 10weeks. Oh its a roller coaster!
Wishing all well. There are no silly questions so mention it to your midwife Hollie if worried but im sure your fine and just lucky!

I was the same as crumblina... On until about 9 weeks then about 5 days of feeling better (and worryingly a bleed) and then bang ! It came back.

I think there's some sort of hormonal transition at that point? The placenta starts to produce more hormonally and the ovaries a bit less?

Anyway, I was ok, 13 week scan showed a very wriggly foetus with everything in the right place.

Use the sickness break to get some food into you - I was horrifically sick up to 9 weeks ( as in ten, twelve times a day) and I was getting run down. When it came back it wasn't quite as bad so I was very lucky, I thought I was heading for HG and had been in hospital on a drip at that point !

Enjoy the respite, it may come back....are your other symptoms still there, veins and sore boobs? Unless any severe pain or bleeding you shouldn't stress xx

Thank you to everyone who has posted, my morning sickness has now returned and is now off and on some days are better than others but I am learning the patterns of it now; if I have one day where I have no sickness the next day I will feel really sick and probably be sick at least once. My appointment with the midwife went really well, she said it was normal which I was great to hear!

My sickness was the same one day on, one off, I tried to enjoy as much food as I could on my good day, stock up for the next day hehe
