Am after a maxi cosi car seat or any other one which is suitable to fit onto a bugaboo chameleon (sis in law has kindly donated :) ) also want an iso fix base.
I can't remember car seats and bases being so expensive!
£120 for the seat and the same again for the base.
Anyone know he best (cheapest place) to get them from or know of any where having a sale ?
Thanks

You can often get bundles from places like kiddicare, we saved by buying the base and car seat together that way. Maxi cosi pebble and family fix I think Smile

Maxi cosi seem to have a price hold as it was near impossible to find anywhere offering them much cheaper than the other places. Halfords had a deal when buying the base and seat (10% off) and sometimes you can find last years colours at a reduced rate but the base seems to hold value. There are deals to be had if you buy both bits together but you have up hunt them down.

One of the bases is suitable for the next stage up car seat too, so you won't need to buy another one when your child grows out of the first one...

Look for the base on eBay I bought mine for £40 and sold it for more! I wouldn't get a 2nd hand car seat obviously but the base is different they are just a heavy lump of plastic

There's an app called price spy that you can download and check the cheapest prices on a lot of products. Most major brands are compared. Maxi cosi is definitely available.

I had a maxi cosi pebble which you can get bugaboo cameleon adapters for. The family fix base fits the pebble and the next size up car seat, the maxi cosi pearl.

Don't buy the standard family fix base as the old front facing pearl will soon be out of date with new rear facing legislaton. Think the new 2-way-pearl needs a slightly different base, still compatible with the pebble

We have a Britax seat which fits onto a cameleon with adapters. It is good for dd who is a larger baby and looked very wedged into a maxicosi at about 4 months!
