Hi I'm 12+2 today. Does anybody know when I'm supposed to stop taking folic acid? Should I continue for some time yet? Thanks

Hi morgansmummy.
I think they recommend you to take it all the way through, although it's said you can stop at 12 weeks. I'm 39 weeks and think I stopped at 12 weeks. It's all good for the baby though so it's not unsafe to continue taking it!

Thank you RL20 do you know if it makes you constipated (sorry for the information) or is that just another symptom of pregnancy, I'm dreading starting iron tablets as my midwife has said I need them im low on iron and I'm already struggling to go to the toilet and the iron tablets are like the devil when it comes to bottoms lol

Not that I can remember, but it can be just a symptom of pregnancy!
I feel for you as I know iron tablets can make you constipated, I had it when I had to take iron tablets a few years ago. See if there are a different milligram that you could take so you don't become as constipated!

Yes think I will do that, I've got my 12 week scan tomorrow so that's something to keep me going through the pain haha thanks for the response RL20
