Losing first baby at 19weeks was devastating! My second pregnancy the Doctors watched me weekly to see if they could see a problem before it got out of hand which they were able to see my cervix shorten around the same time as with my first pregnancy. And that is when I had the Cervical Cerclage put in (17w)My doctor took me off work for the remaining of my pregnancy(I'm now almost 20w on bed rest) Has anyone had a healty full term baby after the stich ?

Dear Delice, so sorry to hear about your loss! Congratulations on your second pregnancy and on making it this far. There are a few of us around with cervix problems - we have been posting on this thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2342354-Short-cervix-and-pregnant-again

Come and join us there! I am 24 weeks with DC3, have had two previous pregnancies with pre-term shortening of the cervix, but not on the same sort of scale as you - I had a preterm birth at 32 weeks and bed-rest in the second pregnancy got me to 36 weeks. I was offered cerclage this time but decided to try and manage with rest again - so far, so good. There are some others on the thread who have had a stitch put in, I think they have good experiences with it.

Good luck with holding the baby in, will cross my fingers for the next critical weeks for you.

Hi all, I realise this is a very old post but I am 31 weeks pregnant and have a cerclage stitch in and have been having horrendous issues with repeated uti's, eColi, pseudomonas etc and constantly feeling uncomfortable and sore. I've been in hospital and told that my stitch has migrated and moved slightly and is aggravating my bladder. I'm struggling so much with it but know I need to keep it in for a few more weeks if possible (although my consultant is even concerned they may struggle to get it out with where it has become positioned). Did anyone have any issues at all like this? Many thanks
