Ugh!! About 5weeks in and so no one at work knows. Started off the day with an almost-migraine & now I'm feeling very green with morning sickness!

Dear god how am I going to get through the rest of the morning/day/future days??Sad

Stem ginger biscuits, carrs water crackers and oatcakes. Never let your tummy get empty and drink LOTS of water!

I found really thick sugary porridge before 9 am helped me. None of the ginger stuff helped the me.

I feel your pain. Literally two minutes before I had to make someone redundant I got an almight wave of sickness and didn't think I was going to make the meeting. Tactical seat placement was needed in the meeting room!

I'm struggling with this too. Thankfully my nausea comes and goes but I'm finding it really hard to sit at my desk and carry on as normal when all I want to do is curl up in a ball and hide.

FuzzyScuzzbucket · 17/04/2015 21:43

Anything with ginger is supposed to help. I used to drink lemon and ginger tea. Try to make sure your stomach isn't empty, which is hard when all you want to do is puke. The last thing you feel like doing is eating or drinking

7up became my best friend at this stage, with a straw.

Frasras11 · 17/04/2015 22:44

If you feel really ill I'd tell your boss and then go home. I struggled every day with morning sickness in my first pregnancy but didn't want to be the pregnant woman taking the piss. This time round sickness has been worse and the thought of puking in a communal toilet is just too much. I've taken time off when it's been constant vomit all day.

Other days I've found eating little and often helps. If I get too hungry I end up vomiting again so I always try to have something to nibble on.

Hope you feel better soon. It's totally grim xx

Sprite with ice in helped me x

Just writing my shopping list for tesco - I think half the weekly shop is going to be my 'anti-nausea arsenal'Grin

Different things have worked in different pregnancies for me but this time round coke and mint humbugs have been my saviour, with cheese being one of the few savoury things I can eat. What I can eat changes over the course of the pregnancy though.

NotAQueef · 18/04/2015 12:24

I had sickness and all day nausea up to 22 weeks with dd (now 5 weeks) for me sour things helped take away the nausea best. Was peeling and eating grapefruit at my desks every day. Yummy. My team thought I was weird though. Occasionally sucked on a lemon but only in the privacy of my own home.

Hope you manage to find something that works.

Lunastarfish · 18/04/2015 13:11

just eat whatever you can eat. my diet between 6-16 weeks was terrible. mostly carbs with ocassional prawns and LOTS of coca cola (i couldn't have coped without coke).

is there anywhere you can rest at lunch? I was lucky that my office had a few empty offices so I would sneak in at lunchtime for a nap.

I'm 28 weeks now and in hindsight my ms was much worst than I realised at the time. I wish I had just seen my GP and been signed off for a couple of weeks. I ended up telling work at 10 weeks (they knew before my family) because I felt so crap.

u32ng · 20/04/2015 10:04

Well I felt crap this morning but I have managed to push through and (fingers crossed!) am starting to feel better. Even though I have half a tuck shop under my desk after shopping at the weekend I've just been sucking on pieces of oatcake and drinking lots of water. Away to have some salt & vinegar squares now though yum!

Ps. The BEST salt & vinegar crisps are Discos. Very strong which is working for me just now. Not sure if you can buy them down south though??

I swear by crystallized ginger cubes. SanPellegrino lemon and mint ( in a can...Devine!) And bellvita bars. Xxxx

u32ng · 20/04/2015 15:01

adds san pellegrino to mental list of things to buy...
