Hello, I am 25 weeks pregnant and am pretty much all bump except the fact that all of the weight seems to be going to my legs which I am now really self conscious about. As this is getting me down I just wondered if anyone has any tips on any exercises I can do for this? Thank you.

I have just started doing squats - I don't think I could physically do anything else other than walking as I am starting to get SPD.

I have started with 25 per day and will add 5 on a day. If anything it will at least tone my flabby bits!

You can't spot reduce fat. It won't hurt to strengthen those muscles, but I'm afraid weight gain goes where it wants!

squats are excellent as they will tone. Pilates instructor also told me that your bum muscles that you develop whilst squatting are just as important as the pelvic floor muscles post birth. So squats have lots of benefits. you may also want to try lunges too

I think if I lunged, I may never get up again Grin

I'm in a similar position (currently 22+5), and most my baby weight is heading straight for my legs (the rest for my bum!!) despite doing three spin classes a week and squatting like there's no tomorrow, I'm at the stage now where I'm just embracing it and will deal with the weight after baby is here.
