Coping With Awful All Day Sickness!

As it says! Im almost 10 weeks now and since 6 weeks i have suffered with bad sickness. Recently been treated for Mallory Weiss syndrome (tearing in the esophagus) due to all the vomiting! Started sickness tablets but no help just yet.

It might sound melodramatic but i feel like im not myself anymore. Im miserable and not enjoying this pregnancy at all.

Does anyone have any tips or tell me its going to get better? Haha please?!

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time :( I'm now 21 weeks and still sick. To reassure you the majority of women start to feel better between 12 and 14 weeks. Hope you're one of them x

Amyyy27 · 15/04/2015 15:42

Aww thank you. Wow 21 weeks that must be so hard :( x

God love you! I had sickness the whole way through my pregnancy it's awful ?? hope it goes away for you!! Xx

Very very small meals, I could only keep down Jelly babies and Heinz tomato soup and later salad. Although it's gross eat stuff that will be easy coming back up and is easy to digest and more importantly keep on top of your hydration with tiny sips of water.

I was sick all the way through although got a bit less relentless after the 12 week mark. However I gave birth to a very health baby girl so my sickness obviously had no affect on her (apart from her red hair she puts down to the tomato soup Grin

And whilst it's no comfort to you now once babies born you'll be back in your jeans within a week - in fact I'd gone down 2 sizes!

I am trialling the seabands for MS.. seem to take the edge off slightly - can eat porridge!and other beige food from time to time. Just keep hydrated with coconut water or similar if you can bare it.

Amyyy27 · 15/04/2015 16:25

I tried those toots unfortunately they didnt work for me :( will try the coconut water thanks! X

I'm at my wits end with sickness :( I'm 13+2 and still really sick and exhausted.

I feel silly going to gp though, what if they say my sickness isnt bad enough? then I will feel like a big wuss! I would love to try some anti sickness tablets but dont know how bad the sickness has to be to be given them.

BifsWif · 15/04/2015 16:38

I really, really feel for you. I was so ill for the first 20 weeks (im 36 weeks now). I hated being pregnant, it sucked all of the joy away from it. No advice really, nothing helped me. Just eat what you can, don't worry about the nutritional value too much! It will pass, I promise x

Amyyy27 · 15/04/2015 16:45

rosy i was exactly the same as you and felt silly. Eventually i had blood in my vomit and when i went to the doctors he was suprised i had let it get so bad! So i would definitely advise you to go to the doctors if you have tried all the usual crappy advice (ginger etc) and its not helping. Its so tough to deal with on your own x

I literally woke up one morning and it had disappeared completely. I hope it happens soon for you and you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

Amyyy27 · 15/04/2015 17:41

Thanks :) x

Have you tried smoothies on my really bad days they were the only things I could keep down and oranges which I craved lol x

htf2 · 16/04/2015 00:07

I agree on the smoothies! and the sickness tablets - so many women take them, I wouldn't feel bad at all about it. just be aware that they work differently for different people (or not....) and if it's not working go back and try another kind, don't just keep taking them if they aren't helping...

rosy189 · 16/04/2015 06:20

Thanks Amy, I think I will ring GP today, ive tried everything! The worst advice was to eat 'little and often' when I tried that I literally threw everything up, because I feel more sick when my stomach is empty, I try and eat a larger meal, then just go to sleep and hope I digest it before I can bring it up. I hate being sick as well :(
