Am 12 weeks pg. Had scan today and had to lie down for over an hour as baby in bad position - now got terrible backache in lower back. Can I just take a couple of paracetemol? Anything else I can do?

Paracetamol absolutely fine in pregnancy. Take x2 500mg and relax.

And if you get to boots/super drug I can really recommend tiger balm rub, not the little pot it's more a lotion. It's fantastic for sore muscles and safe.

Yes, paracetamol is perfectly safe to take in pregnancy unless you have an underlying medical condition. If that's the case then give your midwife a call.

Are you sure it's the baby lying in an awkward position? I think it's more likely you've pulled something than the baby lying in an awkward position as it's only very small at this point so doesn't really weigh enough to put a strain on things.

I'd get any aches and pains that are quite severe at 12 weeks checked out, it might be a sign of SPD or something that you could need some therapy for. Everything loosens up and changes so it's probably worth getting checked out.

I don't mean baby in awkward position - I mean I was lying in awkward position for ages while they tried to get baby in right position!

Ha ha oh! Ouch! Awkward baby :). You could try a warm bath, just make sure you have someone on hand to help you get out incase you seize up.

DH is out! But took paracetamol so hopefully will ease off soon.
