how many weeks pregnant

Can anyone help me. 6 weeks ago i had my period and started the pill. I forgot after a couple of days to take the pill and. Thought i would just start on my next period. A few days later which would have been 1 week since my last period i started heavy bleeding again which i think was a withdrawl bleed from the pill which lasted 4 days. I have found out i am pregnant and i am unsure on whether i am 6 weeks or 5 weeks. Can somebody help or has this happe ed to anyone else

If your period was 6 weeks ago that makes you 8 weeks pregnant

I'm not sure moo is right, but there's no way of knowing how far along you are (likely 5 or 6 weeks) until you have a dating scan.

It's dated from your last menstral period, so they will go from your last bleed, but may send you for a slightly earlier dating scan. . The extra two weeks is added when worked out from conception, not last period, so approx five weeks

You won't know for sure until your scan. The midwife will count pregnancy from the 1st day of your last period ( 6 weeks) but this can change as not everybody has a textbook menstrual cycle.

Thanks everyone. Just not sure. Dont have appointment to see midwife for a week and not sure how many weeks pregnant i am to tell her.

The midwife will base it on your last period until you have the scan :)

She won't ask how pregnant you are. She will ask the date of your last period and use a little paper wheel thing to see how pregnant you are and give an estimated due date.

But these could change at the scan.
