severe peanut allergy, early pregnancy and progestrone - alternative to pessaries/pills

I am 5 weeks pregnant with my 4th Child. Fabulous surprise but scary too. In my last two pregnancies i have been prescribed progestrone tablets for the first 10 weeks, i have low levels. Last pregnancy i developed a severe peanut allergy. I cannot take the same medication as before. My GP shrugged it off saying just don't take anything but it's going to be a few weeks before i can see the Midwife or the specialist. The pharmacist says i could use progestrone cream (meant for menopause) as it doesn't contain peanut oíl. Any one at all been through this or have any advice? Thank You

Sorry, what's that now? Progesterone contains peanut oil? Are these oral tablets or the pessaries?

I have a severe peanut allergy and had to take progesterone in both my pregnancies - I was put on cyclogest which is a progesterone pessary and obviously didn't have any reaction to that.

Thank god my obgyn didn't prescribe the oral tablets, they would have killed me!

Crinone pessaries only contain palm oil, not peanut oil too. So they would also be considered ok.

There are certain progesterone supps that do contain peanut, so you do need to be careful, but pharmacist should be able to check this for you. Congrats.

I would add that I am in Spain so some of the brand names will be different. That's really interesting about the palm oíl one. Does it contain soya by any chance? Allergic to that too. Can't believe my drs didn't pick up on the connection when i started having attacks last pregnancy, so dangerous! Thanks to you both for posting for me

I am using a natural progesterone cream called Wellsprings.
The pessaries I was on the cycle before this one had a warning not to use them if allergic to peanuts, but I am sure there are other brands that would be fine.
Hope you find something you can use!

Thank you :)

Stroke - if you have another do flag up the peanut allergy as I am told that cyclogest does have peanut oil in it, you were very lucky.
