Hiya lovely people just wondering if any of you nub/skull theory experts could help me out I would be really grateful. I already have a beautiful boy and with this being my last pregnancy I would secretly love a little girl to complete our family. Obviously healthy is priority though but just need some guidance! Thank you in advance xxxxxx

Welcome to MN! I don't know a damn thing about nubs or skulls but I am. 99% sure you are having either a girl or a boy! Grin

Ljj1987 · 13/04/2015 01:13

Haha thanks Annie meant to be quite accurate after 12 Week if the nub can be seen!

The idea that established 'mumsnetters' belittle 'nethuns' is actually quite hilarious. Because what could be sadder than spending so much time on, and being so invested in, an internet forum that you can tell from someone's turn of phrase whether they are new or not. Suggest those people get OFF the internet and GO OUTSIDE into the REAL world. Where, btw, if you start your sentences with 'what the fucking fuck' and think a 2 year old flirting is 'eww', or that any woman who expresses a very slight desire for one sex over another should be hung drawn and quartered, then you're probably rather lonely. Shame for you.

Bowlersarm · 13/04/2015 20:39

Well that's you all told Grin

Good luck OP.

Good luck on having a nice healthy baby.

I had my anomaly scan yesterday and didn't really concentrate on sex of baby, I was more focused on knowing that the baby was formed well, no cleft lip/palate, etc. Huge relief from both DH and myself at the end. Will find out at the birth as to whether it's a boy or girl. Not long in the grand scheme of things!

WannabeLaraCroft · 14/04/2015 12:22

I think it's a boy!

....or a girl.

Sorry I'm useless, and no idea about the nub thing. Grin

Some ppl on Mumsnet get excited about 'correcting' everyone and moan about them putting xxxxxxx/hun/hubby/lol etc, point out the difference between gender and sex, pick up on spelling/grammar mistakes and stuff on their posts, just have a look at some of the threads on AIBU or Chat and you'll see!

It doesn't bother me in the slightest, and you sound lovely!

We are honestly mostly a lovely bunch on Mumsnet, even those who 'correct' are lovely too, just look past it, brush it off and ignore op.

It's also difficult to convey the right 'tone' online too, someone might write something down very pleasant and to the point, but to someone else it might come across as sharp/bitchy etc.

You're right to be excited about your new baby, and it's only normal to wonder about the sex. Good luck Flowers

GetOutOfBed · 14/04/2015 14:01

Good luck today! Please update us.

Dr0pThePirate · 14/04/2015 14:11

Bloody hell! What an aggressive thread.

I'd never heard of "nub theory" until someone mentioned it on here. There were lots of posters a few months ago posting their scan pics and asking the same thing. I don't know why Ljj got such a hard time for asking.

Has something weird happened to the Pregnancy topic in the last two months?

Ljj1987 · 14/04/2015 21:24

Haha didn't have my scan today rearranged for next week.due being in hospital all dY with phlebitis! Boo! And like I keep.saying over and over I said healthy was most important x

Ljj1987 · 14/04/2015 22:13

Awk this is awful. Of course if you have a boy your gonna be hoping for a girl!! Everybody does! You always get asked what you are hoping for like me I have a girl and would love another girl for the whole sisters thing but would also love a boy cuz I already Have a girl. It's normal as she said and as any women would say it's the babies health that matters most! Xx

Ljj1987 · 15/04/2015 15:10

Find out in 6 days! Excited and I mean if health wasn't important to me just gender I wouldn't have bothered with the diagnostic bloods tests etc....I duno! Xx

OP posts:
Coraltee123 · 15/04/2015 15:25

Just ignore people just love to argue no matter what you post. Congratulations and enjoy!! Keep me posted on what you have! Wana find out if gender scans are accurate before I get my heart set on whatever sex they say lol x

Grantaire · 15/04/2015 15:39

Hoping for one sex doesn't mean denigrating the other. It's normal to want to replicate the lovely, positive relationship you had with your own Mum. Why not? You will love your child absolutely regardless. Best of luck for a continued, healthy pregnancy!

Ljj1987 · 15/04/2015 16:09

Thank you everyone! Will let you all know on Tuesday. Still recovering from.phlebitis didn't realise how painful it is! Be reet in couple of days I'm sure congratulations coraltree on pregnancy have you any inkling xx

Congrats OP Smile

Roseybee10 · 04/06/2015 13:16

Sorry you've been given a hard time.
I felt the same way both times if I'm honest. Yes I would have loved a boy just as much I'm sure but with my first I really wanted a daughter as it was just me and my mum growing up and I really wanted that relationship with a daughter.
The second time I was convinced it was a boy as I was carrying differently and I was terrified as I didn't know what to do with a boy. I wanted a girl so my dd would have a sister.
I didn't tell anyone because I knew people would be horrible about it but that's me being honest.
I ended up with two girls.

With regards your picture, I don't see a clear nub sorry. Good luck next week x

scarednoob · 04/06/2015 15:46

ah how lovely - your little dude will have a best mate for life!

Rosieliveson · 04/06/2015 15:52

Congratulations! Looks like those blue vests were your intuition kicking in.
I'm coming up to 20 weeks with my 2nd. Have a boy already and hoping for a little brother for him in one way but in another a girl would be fabulous too. My intuition says boy though Smile
