Hiya lovely people just wondering if any of you nub/skull theory experts could help me out I would be really grateful. I already have a beautiful boy and with this being my last pregnancy I would secretly love a little girl to complete our family. Obviously healthy is priority though but just need some guidance! Thank you in advance xxxxxx

Don't worry I'm new on here so didn't know myself. It is just an expression though I'm not sexist! Maybe the hun thing a and the xx thing is other people's problem though not mine??

It's a big problem on here, tends to put you in the 'nethuns' category (BTW op I don't have any issues with it, but I know alot of people do). Hence the suggestions that you move to another forum which was definitely bitchy.

Ljj1987 · 12/04/2015 21:26

Oh ok nethuns netmums it's all abit confusing might come off here!I definitely saw the nub theory first on here otherwise I wouldn't have said anything!!

Ihavealwaysbeenastorm · 12/04/2015 21:33

Nethuns is the mumsnet name for netmums, to poke fun at how they always say hun and have tickers etc.
I've seen the nub theory bandied about on here loads, and the skull theory too. It's all just a bit of fun but some people just get their pants in a twist when people talk about the sex of a baby.
Please don't leave op, mumsnet is great especially for pregnancy.

Sunbury1986 · 12/04/2015 21:34

I'm old. DD almost 20. Expecting 2nd child 1998, really wanted another girl as first just a breeze. Found out boy, he's now 16 and the bloody best thing ever. Loving, clingy, hard work but ultimately a proper funny decent bloke. That's the resume of his peers.

MrsW1911 · 12/04/2015 21:45

Ljj1987 · 12/04/2015 21:48

Erm I was not being bitchy! Shock I recommended the other place because this subject seems to get more coverage there.

Debinaround · 12/04/2015 22:30

Congratulations on your pregnancy opFlowers

Sorry I'm no help, I really can't tell ether way. (I'm crap and always get it wrongGrin)

Ljj1987 · 12/04/2015 22:36

Don't think she meant you psipina there was a really bitchy comment there not from you!x

Superexcited · 12/04/2015 22:41

It looks like a boy nub to me. The first two pics you posted seem to show the nub pointing up by more than 30 degrees which indicates a boy but as bubba is curled up a bit it is hard to tell.
I keep looking at my scan photos but I can't tell the angle of my bubbas nub because he is very curled up.
Please ignore the negative comments, some people have a gender preference but will love their babies regardless. If I have a girl I will most definitely be buying a few pink things because I happen to like pink.

Ljj1987 · 12/04/2015 22:44

I think.boy too! However I did see a fork girl nub on the pics too. All the old.wives tales are pointing towards girl but I don't know. Maybe it hadn't decoded what it wanted to be at that time ??

I must see at least three posts a day from people asking to guess boy or girl using the nub theory on here and I don't see them getting a hard time...

OP I am rubbish at guessing these, can't see a nub but congrats anyway.

Who cares what people on netmums do, this is a platform to chat baby related and kid related things plus all sorts of other topics, not to pick on people that use particular words or add kisses, what a stupid thing to get your knickers in a twist about.

Tut he doesn't really flirt just blows kisses at blonde waitresses etc especially if he can see ice cream behind them.as it's favourite it wouldn't be a seedy thug at 2 or a perv thing.... nub is where the bits wpuld be on the baby scan if it points up its a boy down girl etc look online. By the way someof you don't waste your time beingbitchy or sarcastic what does that achieve?

ZenNudist · 12/04/2015 23:06

As it's already determined just relax and enjoy your pregnancy.

I have 2 boys and it's lovely. I personally think 2 of the same gender is great (although those with one of each are lucky too!)

My boys get on so well together and will double up in clothes. / stuff ... Plus in years to come will share interests.

Relax. What will be will be!

Ljj1987 · 12/04/2015 23:09

Thank you zen most of you have been really lovely but some I can't be bothered with don't get the needs to be sarcastic! Going to come off here more hassle then it's worth. Ps surely most of you don't think my 2 year old actually flirts with people and you knew what I meant in a joking way right? Just wanna get that out there!!!

Debinaround · 12/04/2015 23:26

Sorry your getting such a hard time tonight OP. Some mumsnetters are in a bad mood tonight I think.

Most people on here know what you meant when you said your son flirts. I did anyway.

Don't take the sarcastic and nasty comments to heart. (I don't.)

Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and your new baby when he/she comes. Smile

Cherrychocolate · 12/04/2015 23:34

For what it's worth OP, I completely understand how you feel. It's such an exciting time for you, but it maybe the last chance you will get to have the Daughter you want. There's no shame in admitting that you would like a girl this time. I don't understand why people have such a problem with others having a preference.

I had 2 boys, then a girl. They are all totally amazing, but I am glad I got to experience having Sons and a Daughter.

I will also tell you that I love that my DD enjoys playing with dolls and wants to wear anything pink and sparkly! Shocking eh?!

I hope you have a healthy and happy pregnancy, with a lovely pink bundle at the end of it :)

Ljj1987 · 12/04/2015 23:41

Thank you Smile x

MissBattleaxe · 13/04/2015 00:27

I don't understand why people have such a problem with others having a preference.

Because it makes me feel sorry for the baby if its the "wrong" gender
Because a healthy baby is a gift, regardless of sex.
Because many women lose babies or experience infertility and it gets difficult to read about people hoping for only a girl or only a boy.

I lost 3 babies before DS2. Two were too early to tell and one was a girl. By the time DS2 came along, I was just happy he was full term. I get quite angry when I read of people only wanting a boy or only wanting a girl. They are beyond lucky already.

OP- I know you have said you would love your baby if its a boy or a girl so this isn't directed at you, but hopefully answers the question in bold.

Ljj1987 · 13/04/2015 01:02

I totally understand and I bet it was terrible for you. As I said before I was told myself that I wouldnt be able to have kids pcos and anovulation and my boy is a delight as I said nub theory skull theory etc is mainly for abit of fun and I'm sure when it came to the birth no one is disappointed regardless. I'd be lying if I said I would love alittle daughter though but if this is a boy and he's half as ace as my dude I'd be thrilled x
