Hiya lovely people just wondering if any of you nub/skull theory experts could help me out I would be really grateful. I already have a beautiful boy and with this being my last pregnancy I would secretly love a little girl to complete our family. Obviously healthy is priority though but just need some guidance! Thank you in advance xxxxxx

Are you having any diagnostic tests?

Ljj1987 · 12/04/2015 19:45

Having the downs syndrome test as the midwife took that much blood in my first appointment I said she might as well. I'm a thallisaemia carriier too apparently or iron deficient so testing for that too but I would love it regardless it was more for the warning really. Xxx

Don't feel bad. In RL almost all my friends have had a bit of a preference second time round. I did and got the opposite. Don't know anyone for whom it has mattered at all after the birth though.

Ljj1987 · 12/04/2015 19:53

No aamd ut wouldn't matter to me really as long as it's healthy that's the main thing he nub/skull theory is just really a guessing game. I'd be lying if I said I'd love a boy and a girl as that's what I've always dreamed of since I was told I'd never have kids but boys are cool my little man is anyway xxx

A top consultant confirmed to me that the skull theory is rubbish. I don't think your scan photos show the nub clearly enough.

Ljj1987 · 12/04/2015 20:05

Crikey! I didn't mean to offend people! It's just a saying pink and blue loads of people have said it on here my son loves pushin his doll round in the pram it's not a sex ism thing! And yeah a peepee just nicer than saying willy or penis lol x

Have you tried asking on Netmums or Babycentre? They have whole forums dedicated to this topic I think x

Ljj1987 · 12/04/2015 20:10

Don't think I'm gonna bother at all hun seem to get told off a lot haha xx

I'd say Boy the last 2 pics. The skull theory has been proven to be rubbish but there's a lot of truth in the nub theory, you just have to get a good angle on the picture. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

DinkyDye · 12/04/2015 20:17

Ljj ignore the rude poster's. If you want to dress a dd in pink then do. Just because one poster thinks blue dinosaur pj's are fine for her dd doesn't make it so for anyone else. I'll wait to see that OP aibu to get annoyed that everyone thinks dd is ds Hmm

no idea on the nub theory. If you can't wait to the 20 week scan you could get a NIPT test.

AccidentalAnarchist · 12/04/2015 20:19

I think you are on the wrong forum Confused

Ljj1987 · 12/04/2015 20:27

Do you think anarchist? I first found out about the nub theory from a forum on here before I joined lol. All I wanted was abit of advice not to be made to feel stupid or as if I'm really horrible lol! Thanks to everyone for the comments though x

OP posts:
Psipsina · 12/04/2015 20:29

Oh God you're not horrible at all, it's just one of those things that people don't discuss that much on here I suppose.
You sound really nice and I like the sound of your little chap with his dolly - mine has got two dolls, he's 2 and a bit, and he makes me breastfeed them before he has some Smile

Psipsina · 12/04/2015 20:30

I think you are too polite for this place tbh. No one is as polite as you. We hate each other here Grin

Ljj1987 · 12/04/2015 20:35

Haha thanks confrontation ain't my thing really I just like to get on with people! Didn't think my post would cause as much offence as it did because all my pregnant friends in the past have had their hopes etc....x

Psipsina · 12/04/2015 20:37

No one's offended, don't worry, it's just how we speak to people here - pretty rude xx

Justusemyname · 12/04/2015 20:40

I just used pink/blue for shorthand, Therestifmylife.Hmm

Ljj1987 · 12/04/2015 20:43

Oh honey I see a blob Grin

Not long till you find out for real. I hope you can wait that long without going nuts x

Ihavealwaysbeenastorm · 12/04/2015 20:51

You sound lovely op, or suspect the reason you are getting a bit of a hard time is because you are using the word 'hun', 'lol' and ending posts with kisses, tends to be frowned upon on mumsnet :-)

I don't think it's wrong to have a small preference, I reckon alot of people do, I had a dd first and secretly had a small hope for another dd purely so they would have a sisterly bond. I got a ds and he is awesome!

Congratulations on your new baby whatever it turns out to be Flowers

Ljj1987 · 12/04/2015 20:56

Hmm. Okay will bear that in mind! Just can't help it do it without thinking! I think I can psipina gonna drive me insane though just cos there's no definite bits! I'm so impatient if it was upto me I'd open my xmas presents in February haha!x
