Is a faint line a problem?

I took a clear blue digital pregnancy test the other day which said pregnant 1-2 weeks, it wasn't gnu but I had held my wee in for a few hours. Judging by my last period I should be 4 weeks, or just over.
Today at the doctors I did another test, but the line didn't come up straight away it took a few minutes, and it was quite faint, but you didn't have to squint to see it either? But thats the first test ive ever done that has been positive and not digital. The doctor said I could be around 3 weeks so it's very early. However, I had a wee not long before the test, so the urine I used was sort of 'squeezed out' so not concentrated at all, could that be why the line is fainter than she thought it would be?
I've bought more tests to make sure they get darker.
I think I'm just terrified that it's too good to be true, Im not sure if this is a pointless question im just very nervous.

Thanks for reading x

It's perfectly normal. I'm not sure what your Dr was on about - mist people won't be able to get a positive test at three weeks. That would be only a week past ovulation!

I'm 24 weeks pregnant after a faint line on a test.

AwfulBeryl · 09/04/2015 20:23

I had a faint line that turned out to be twins.

Don't worry Smile
Congratulations

I'm 28 weeks pregnant after a faint line on a test. My clear blue said 1-2 weeks which is more around 4 weeks- should say on packet or Google it. I did my first response test about 11pm the night before and I had a faint line. Flowers

Thank you! I thought 3 weeks didn't make the dates add up to be honest.. Unless she meant 3 weeks after conception?? Not too sure. I've seen some very faint positives on mumsnet and it was a lot more clearer.

It's a problem if you don't want to be pregnant.

Congratulations Flowers

Mine were faint for the first fortnight. really worried me at the time, I did a stupid amount of tests convinced that I was loosing the baby but it wasn't the case. First response seemed to give the best line even early doors if you need reassurance

I did a Clearblue Digital which showed 5+ weeks. Then had bleeding so sent DH to buy another test - instead of buying another expensive one (!) he bought a double pack from the Poundshop! Did 2 of them and both negative. Based on this I assumed I had miscarried. A few weeks later I still had pregnancy symptoms so bought another Clearblue Digital which was positive. The moral of my story is - you get what you pay for Grin

You can't get a false positive pregnancy test, if there is a line then it doesn't matter how faint it is .. it means you are pregnant. Congratulations!
My Clear Blue digital test came us as 'not pregnant' 14 days past ovulation but the next day I got a v faint line at 15 DPO - am now 28 weeks pregnant.

madgiebean · 09/04/2015 21:22

Definitely a line, congrats! Smile

Bex174 · 09/04/2015 21:28

I had a very faint line on the first test I did, so much so I questioned if it was even a positive.
Scan 2 days later found out I was indeed pregnant. What's more it was with twins, already 11 weeks gone!
So don't worry about a faint line - a line is a line!

Congratulations :)

Bex174 · 09/04/2015 21:30

That's darker than i got at 11 weeks, so definitely a positive!

Coldcabbagestew · 09/04/2015 21:32

That's a pretty good line for 4 weeks on an internet cheapy. Mine were much fainter.

madgiebean · 09/04/2015 21:36

Oh gosh thank you all. I know it must seem like a silly question ive just been going out of my mind with every little ache, pain, line, faint line haha. Hopefully I can relax soon.

OP step the hell away from the piss sticks. Seriously!

You're pregnant. That much is clear. You honestly don't need to continue to test. As you have demonstrated already, it can cause a lot of unnecessary anxiety.

Congratulations and please do try to relax Flowers

TheBiscuitStrikesBack · 09/04/2015 21:44

Madgie, they look like good strong lines to me. I got 1-2 weeks on a digi this morning and the IC I did at the same time look similar to yours.

Fingers crossed for us both.

CoffeeBeanie · 09/04/2015 21:45

My faint line is 16 Grin

madgiebean · 09/04/2015 21:54

Thank you all. Starting to laugh at myself now. My OH is out and im sending him so many pictures of the test in different lights.. After the 4th picture he stopped replying haha. I turned the flash on on my phone and im satisfied with the line now.. No more piss sticks! (Even though I have another 5 including a clear blue...)

No, a faint line is not a problem if it gets darker. My baby is due at the end of May - this was my first line.

Good luck :)

Oh that is very reassuring I could barely see that, thank you! &good luck with the rest of your pregnancy Flowers

I did another test this morning to be sure although I know I shouldn't have.. But to me the line seems to be getting slightly darker considering the first one I took last night. (The first has 1 dot the second has 2) so I'm feeling a lot more relaxed.
