I have gotten set of 3 lovely sleepsuits from Next for my baby to wear in the first day in hospital.

I was finding it super hard to find trully something cute. We are team pink, but I wanted to find yellow outfit what was impossible, when i found yellow sleepsuits I liked there were no matching hats.

I am very particular and want the sleepsuit to match the hat.

Only thing is that I was only able to get hats in First size and they look very small.
Sleepsuits I got Up to one month size because I do not like then the clothes need to be folded over.

Do you think first size is OK for hat? at least for the inital day/ days in the hospital? They look very small. Unfortunatelly next available size in stock is 6m+

Upto 1 month will Bury your baby in the 1st few days (unless you give birth to a crumper) I'd get first size especially for in the hospital

Also

I have gotten couple of hats from my mom as gifts but they are the style with ties which tie under the chin. She bought them in different country but I have not seen this style on the sale anywhere in stores here nor anyone posting pictures of babies wearing this and was wondering whether the ties are now considered unsafe???

Yeah first size will be fine. www.next.co.uk/help/WinHelpSGC.asp This has the weights on, they change pet store so always worth checking when buying the smallest sizes.

Unfortunately it all completely depends on the size of your baby when born, and the length of limbs, size of head etc. It's almost impossible to tell what'll fit until the day.
My lg was 6lb 13oz and different brands fitted her in different sizes. Even now at 18months, she is 9-12mnths in Tesco and 18-24month in JoJo Mamman.

The sleepsuits sound super cute though!

I got Next sleepsuits, vests and hats in newborn size. DD was 7lb 6oz and 48cm when born and they fitted her nicely. She has been slow to gain weight, but at 10 wks is now around 8lb 11oz and 54cm and has grown out of them length wise.

My baby has 7lbs (3kg) according to the growth scan at 36w . This is due to abdonimal circumeference on 95th centille. Will be induced at 39 or 40w.

Theoretically she is expected to be big, but only due to the abdo measure.
Head is not overly big. ANyway I think these scans are overestimating the weight.
But still I vary to go with First size sleepsuit which is marked 3.4kg

All my friends thay have had growth scans and told that their baby will be 9lbs plus have given birth to a 7 to 7 1/2lber

I would personally err on the side of caution and have a couple of new born then some up to 1 month
