Pregnancy insomnia

I'd forgotten about this truly joyful side affect of pregnancy. Took hours to get to sleep & have so far been awake for 90mins. Might as well get up. Hmph.

24 weeks of this to go then the hardcore exhaustion starts, this is just a warm up I suppose!

I have a newborn, DD is not quite 2 weeks old. We're curreny up for night feed no2. Much more preferable to pregnancy insomnia!! When I do get sleep its deep and I'm comfy in bed! Insomnia in pregnancy is just crap and pointless.

poocatcherchampion · 07/04/2015 05:03

Ug tell me about it. I'm only 7 weeks and am rememberinh this 5am awakeness with clarity. Its so annoying.

Everyone else is asleep.

KensingtonRose · 07/04/2015 05:10

After 38 weeks of just dropping off and then needing to get up for a wee, I'm almost looking forward to being kept awake by my baby! Somehow I think it will feel more worth it than just lying here pointlessly!

Teaching123 · 07/04/2015 05:22

I mean, I might change my mind in September, but like you say 5YearsTime & KensingtonRose at least there's a point to it when there's a newborn!!

I'm so bored & now know work will be bloody awful tomorrow being so exhausted..... Yay!!

With you all the way ladies! I swam for 45mins AND walked nearly 4 miles today/yesterday...and been awake for hours already Confused and yet when it's time to get up, I want to stay in bed!

stolemyusername · 07/04/2015 05:36

Yep me too, and when I do eventually fall asleep I find it impossible to get up in the morning Hmm

PlasticCircus · 07/04/2015 05:36

I am finding this awful second time around! I fall asleep fine but then I am awake for about 3 hours every night from about 2am. I just drop off again to then have to get up with my toddler.

HoppityVoosh · 07/04/2015 05:43

11 weeks and I'm awake when I really don't want to be

DustOffYourHighestHopes · 07/04/2015 05:50

Me too. I remember for DS, the newborn sleep deprivation was rubbish BUT at least I could sleep whenever I intended to sleep! It was a joy after the 4-6am insomnia! Plus now I have to get up in the morning to look after DS...

BreeVDKamp · 07/04/2015 05:58

I'm awake too! Counting myself lucky though as this has only started recently, am 34 weeks. Some if you are so early on and suffering!! Sympathies.
Why am I wide awake? Had such a busy tiring weekend, it doesn't make sense :( been awake 2 hours!!

BreeVDKamp · 07/04/2015 06:01

Owh and now the man upstairs has got up and is stamping around!!

Teaching123 · 07/04/2015 06:06

I'm up. Why not eh, seems allowed at this time. Same time tomorrow ladies!!

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who keeps waking up at about 2 and then can't get back to sleep, no wonder I doze off at about 4pm most days! Confused
