Hi, my wife and I are pregnant with a long awaited second child (5 years trying) wife has had a few bleeds so far and we have twice had internal scans showing all is ok. Over the past few days she has become really worried about her lack of symptoms despite having sore boobs and feeling sick prevously. She is very worried and I thought I would ask here instead of constantly asking her and making things worse. 12 week scan booked in for Wed 15th April. Any ideas??

Your wife is more than likely still pregnant, the placenta starts to take over around this time meaning symptoms can settle down.

If you feel to anxious to wait until the 15th you could always book a private scan, most re-assurance scans are around £30 in my area.

Very sorry to hear how worried you both are. I've had symptoms stop at this stage twice, one was fine, one not. I would ring the GP tomorrow morning and ask for a scan asap, to put your minds at rest. Hopefully your wife is just lucky and has two or so weeks less of sickness, which often happens.

My nausea and sore boobs eased off about 10 weeks after being pretty strong since 6 weeks. Now 23 and all fine so far. After 2 good scans odds are well in your favour but I know how nerve wracking it all is. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Goodness, I will speak to her about an extra scan in the morning. Thank you for your responses. I have posted this twice by accident!!

My symptoms eased both times at ten weeks when the placenta takes over.
My symptoms did disappear when I miscarried at 7 weeks but that's a more unusual time for them to disappear so I knew there was something wrong (they should increase at 7 weeks if anything).
I was a basket case with both pregnancies due to previous losses so I know how nerve wracking it is but try to relax, it's very normal for symptoms to ease between 10-13 weeks. The sore boobs was the one that disappeared for me between 10-11 weeks.

I suddenly felt much less pregnant at 10 weeks, my symptoms almost disappeared. I'm now sat feeding my 2 week old DD. I'm sure everything is fine Smile but a reassurance scan may put your minds at rest.
