Hi Ladies,

Am 10+4 today, been wanting a Haggis roll for ages, so i've went and had one Hmm I know some people say it's not good to eat while Pregnant. Surely a wee roll won't harm me or baby..... As now am working myself up a little. So many rules Confused.

Haggis is fine. It doesn't contain liver and liver is the main offal issue.

Oh thank god, as after i had eaten i thought maybe i shouldn't of eaten that. Though I did really enjoy it Grin. Thank you Smile

The problem with liver is, it's too high in preformed Vitamin A. Vitamin A is, of course, something you need, but it can be a problem for the baby if you get too much. As I understand it (American and only had veggie haggis myself), haggis would probably have things other than liver in it as well, which would make it less potentially dangerous. You shouldn't eat liver more than once or twice a month when you're pregnant.

Macsweens Haggis doesn't contain liver so you can stock up on that next time you have a craving Grin

Most haggis has never seen any liver these days - it's almost always made from pig meat, so absolutely no worries!!

Would veggie haggis satisfy your haggis craving? If it would, of course there's no liver in that.
