I got a positive HPT on Friday, by my dates I'm 5 weeks today Smile, very early however I had a feeling I was, sore boobs, gone off alcohol and some mild palpitations (all the same as my first). The only thing I haven't had yet is an implantation bleed. I did with my first (she's three now) however my last 'period' was three days late and lighter than usual, could this have been it and I'm actually further than I think?? Since I did the test I actually feel pregnant, getting some bubbling/sensation in my belly but obv could be in my head!!

Lots of people don't have implantation bleeds. in fact I've never met anybody in RL who did. Working this out if that HAD been a bleed not a period then you would have conceived threeish weeks ago and be 8 weeks instead of 5. I think you would have noticed symptoms earlier. I was certainly feeling flipping sick and dizzy by 5 weeks and sick as a dog and knackered by 8. I think it was a period and you're 5 weeks now. The bubbling IS in your head Smile You'd need to be at the very least 8-10 weeks further on than you think to be feeling it. You could do one of those fancy clear blue tests and see what it says but tbh i think it would be a waste of money. Congratulations Smile

I had very light implantation spotting with dd1 but nothing with dd2.
I've been pregnant 4 times (lost the first two early on) and every pregnancy has had some similarities but some totally different symptoms. None of them were the same.

Thanks for that, I did one of those tests with my first and it said I was 3+ and at 6 weeks since my period it confirmed what I already knew so I agree they're a waste of money! I think I'll sit tight, haven't told anyone yet as so early so I appreciate your advice Smile

It's very exciting. I found having my second (and third) to be totally different from my first. You know what to do with the baby for a start and so it's much, much easier to enjoy it. When will you be due - around Christmas time?

By my dates the 7 December, I will have to get organised for Christmas won't I! Our first was a surprise but this time was sort of planned, I feel totally different about it too, last time I was so stressed about work/how we'll manage/were we ready, this time I'm not bothered about any of that, it's all about family now Smile

Yup you'll need to do your Christmas shopping in October. I had a January baby and found it very cold doing night feeds. I would recommend buying fluffy slippers and extra cardis or shawls to wear whilst up.

great idea, my first was born in probably the warmest April on record so it's going to be the opposite this time!

Oooh that's just like me! I had an April baby then the January one then when we went for it again I made sure it was April again! Grin Winter is a bit different. Get somebody to buy you a newborn size snowsuit or look at NCT sales because you will need something cosy for getting out and about. I also found a digital radio very handy because doing the night feeds upstairs in the very dark of a winter night/morning can feel quite isolating but having a radio and being able to retune one handed was great.
Another tip my mil gave me was putting the baby in a hand knitted wooly cardigan at night over sleep suit and vest. I was a bit dubious about over heating them but of course it's fine and does keep them a bit cosier than just the cotton suits. The blankets don't really keep them warm round the shoulders.

Hello! I just found out today that I'm 2-3 weeks and going by the date of conception I'm prob just a week after you, so congrats!

And yes we will have to get our Christmas shopping done early!
