Started mat leave last week and all of a sudden I'm itching to get on with the labour and meet our little baby (dc1). Anyone else starting to feel fed up? I really thought I'd be loving this 'quiet' time but I'm really not. Anyone got some good ideas that worked for you to induce labour? I've been scrubbing floors all day and starting to sip on raspberry leaf tea. I know I'm still early and all we want is to have a happy, healthy baby but just intrigued Smile xx

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and have been in hospital for a week with pre eclampsia :( Another 2 weeks max here, will be induced or sectioned then if it doesn't happen naturally.

I don't really think many thinks bring labour on faster than its naturally going to happen, just enjoy visiting people, eating out, the start of the fine weather and having everything ready for the baby. Basically all the things I had planned!!

Many *things

Yep, 37+6 with my first, started mat leave a few days ago and already wishing away my last days of freedom! Like you, I thought I'd want a couple of weeks to chill out first but now I'm just so excited to get on with it. Trying to plan nice things to do each day so I don't waste the time I have to myself, but would quite happily cancel plans if he decides to put in an early appearance!

Im 37 weeks tomorrow, still working for at least one more week.
Honestly, Im bored at home over this 4 days weekend but I dont really want to go far by myself.

My birth plan has changed upside down recently and that is all what I think about, I can not focus on anything else.

Oh yes. 37+5 here and i am soooo ready for this baby to be out.
Iv been off work for over 10 weeks tho due to SPD so it has really dragged, even with 2 other dcs.
Clary sage oil in the bath, raspberry leaf tea and lots of long walks supposedly encourage labour.

37+2 Smile, finished work on Thursday. Fed up of not being able to sleep comfortably, feeling fat and breathless. Want this baby out!

FiRaffe · 05/04/2015 19:33

37+2 here as well. Got a busy week next week with baby's furniture arriving, my wedding anniversary and DH's birthday, my birthday a week tomorrow then I know I will want baby to arrive and the fact it could drop into may annoys the hell out of me!

Sorry for those of you who've had extra problems to deal with as well!

I'll be 37 weeks on Wednesday, when I finish work. Pelvic Girdle Pain is dragging me down a bit. Midwife said I'm 2/5ths engaged already at appointment on Thursday, so I'm hoping our baby might show up a week or so early. I want him/her here safely, and to get my body back! I've got so much I want to be doing right now, but can't - my garden and veg patch need work and DH isn't a keen gardener at all....

Chocoholic26 · 05/04/2015 21:34

Sorry to hear that foggy. I really shouldn't complain.

Glad I'm not alone though ladies. I have spd/pgp too, worse when I'm sitting down or when I'm in bed. It's no fun at all!! Fingers crossed we all go soon and have healthy and happy little ones xx

37+3 here Smile really impatient too i was in labour ward friday and the monitoring showed loads of tightenings it got us all excited and my DP was telling everyone we'd be back today! since then things have slowed down but at least i may get to spend a few more nice days out with DS just us two.

gingerfluffball · 06/04/2015 08:30

36 weeks here, DC1 and impatient already! Will be keeping an eye on this thread to see if any labour-inducing tips work for any of you Smile

37 weeks today and I'm done, I've got Obstetric cholestasis so the last few weeks have been getting more uncomfortable each day. Right now I'm just wanting the itching to end and for my baby to be out safe.

I was very comfortable before this and quite happy to wait as long as she needed. But hoping I'll be induced in the next few days now.

MummaV · 06/04/2015 10:36

I was due yesterday and am now totally fed up! Been on Mat Leave for 5 weeks now due to annual leave having to be used and I am BORED! There is only so much cleaning one person can do and daytime TV is crap!

I'm comfortable in myself (very lucky!) and don't feel desperate to give birth to get rid of symptoms or pain or anything, but I'm feeling incredibly impatient now! I just want to meet her!

Best of luck ladies! I hope we all get to meet our babies soon!
