Swollen fingers/ankles 32 weeks

This is my 3rd pg but I can't remember what I was like at this stage with last 2. I know my ankles puffed with ds2 but thought that was later. However, just in the last week I have noticed my ankles begin to puff, and my fingers (can't get wedding ring off anymore).

Rarely see m/w and not due to see her for another 3 weeks I think. So suppose I am asking what other signs should I be looking out for if this is anything dangerous. I feel okay, if very tired.
Sorry to fuss.........

Thanks Twiglett. I will make an appt I think as not due to see her again till 36 wks. Not sure if am at risk of pre-ec. My mum had it with both of us, and I had v hi bld pressure with ds1 but fine with ds2.

Sure its probably nothin'.

When do you next see your midwife?
I got this around 32 weeks and, don't want to worry you, but it did turn into pre-eclampsia at 37 weeks.

It can be nothing but it can also be an indication of pre-eclampsia.....amongst other symptoms...high blood pressure, protein in urine etc.

Do mention it to your midwife on your next visit

sorry - didn't read properly!

are you having your baby at rake lane, lazyeye?

lazyeye · 28/04/2004 14:14

Oh yes, wondrous Rake Lane.......did you have your son their? Must admit, both my labours were fine (although first a bit scary), but think the post natal care is a bit of a let down.......

yes - had ds there....have heard lots of negative stories but they were great to us....we were in 2 weeks after ds was born....

Yeah heard good and bad re Rake Lane and RVI so I don't think there is much to choose. I'll be hoping to get home soon if things are straightforward.....

i know what you mean abot good and bad of both! fingers crossed for and quick and safe delivery then

but do check wth your midwife about swollen ankles and fingers.....better to err on the side of caution

I had swollen fingers with my first pg - couldn't get wedding ring off and they thought they might have to cut it off if the swelling increased. Luckily didn't come to that. Also only shoes I could comfortably wear were reef flip flops. Very chic with the work outfits!
o try not to worry, I think some water rentention is quite normal, but do check just in case. Good luck.

I have swollen ankles and fingers at moment (38 wks) - not glam but when checked with mw she wasn't worried about some swelling... think how much is as much of an indicator as anything else. Any swelling is too much as far as I'm concerned... euch, pastry.
