Skin reaction

I've had a bad reaction to my normal moisturiser. It happened on Wednesday, my face looks sun burnt. Red, blotchy, hot to touch and very itchy.

Since then I've put no makeup on just E45. Went to Pharmacy today to get antihistamines. She said that although the BNF said that there is no known harm to baby. She couldn't sell them to me, but recommended I brought them off the shelf in the supermarket?

So I brought them, now don't know whether to take or not???

Any ideas or suggestions

Which type?

The rash will go down by itself most likely in a few days - try soaking a flannel in cold water and putting it on your face for a while. If it doesn't go down, go and see your GP. Try not using the e45 as well. It's very mild but if your normal moisturiser brought you out in a rash, I'd be wary of using anything (patch test on inner elbow for 24 hours.)

Some antihistamines are ok in pregnancy but some aren't, so get your doctor's advice on the specific brand/formulation you bought.

I developed a rash on my stomach and back at around week 5 and it's just cleared up at week 7. The rash was red and spotty and spread as the days went on. It cleared on its own as the doctor was reluctant to prescribe anything. I'd say just give it time to clear on its own if you can.
