Blood at 26 weeks

I have just had a little bit of blood at 26 weeks and I am now quite worried. We did dtd tonight but I have never had that after dtd before and it was bright red. Has anybody else had this? The last time this happened to me it was the beginning of a miscarriage, though much earlier on.

Hiya purple- I've just recently had bright red blood. (Im 29 weeks) You need to ring the maternity ward at your local hospital and go in and be checked out. They will do an examination of your cervix, listen into babies heartbeat and might arrange a scan to check your placenta. Do you know if your placenta is posterior high? Or low ??
Please don't worry, everything was fine when I went in. I save the blood on tissues (as mainly happened when I wiped) and showed them it at the maternity ward- this helps so they can see how much blood loss and the colour of the blood.
Good luck and hope you get things sorted. Let us know how you get on x

Thank you Finding, there hasn't been much more so I am going to see how it goes for now but any more and I will get checked out. Thanks for replying, it's hard not to panic after what happened last time.

I went into triage last week with a small bleed (28 weeks). They listened to the hb, put me on a trace for half an hour to monitor hb and movement, then had a doctor examine me with a speculum (ouch!). Everything looked fine. The doc said that spotting in pregnancy was fairly common and not to worry or come back unless it got worse or more frequent.

I had a m/c last pregnancy too, so I know what it is to panic at the sight of blood. Honestly, ring triage and get seen whenever you're worried, it's what they're there for. I've been 3 times this pregnancy and the relief far outweighs any sense of guilt you may or may not feel. Hope you feel better soon!

Hi purple, I always bleed after dtd, sometimes it's a full sanitary pad and sometimes just a wipe, you could have just started with a sensitive cervix maybe. I wouldn't worry any how xxxx

I'd strongly encourage you to get this checked out ASAP, as I understand it's important to get all 2nd or 3rd trimester bleeds checked out. It might just be your cervix bleeding after dtd, but equally it could be a sign of something more serious, and it's always better to be safe than sorry in pregnancy.
