38 weeks - terrible lower back pain

Hi everyone

I'm 38 weeks with my 3rd baby, DD (6) was one day early and DS (17months) was 10 days early so born around now.

Anyway I woke in the middle of the night with the most lower back pain and it's been constant since, I've slept on and off since then but I've been really restless, it doesn't get any worse on standing or moving about and obviously lying down isn't relieving it and a hot bottle helps only a little. Sometimes these pains are travelling to the front which feels like period pains but it's my back it's so sore. Did anyone else have this? Could it be labour early again? Did anyone else have 2 early babies and 3rd the same?

Thank you

At times it feels as sore as it did when DS was back to back during labour last time. Nothing else to indicate through no waters broken, no show even any real plug loss Easter Confused

I haven't tried a bath as didn't want to wake everyone thought it better to try and sleep through see if it was just a passing phase, tried paracetamol which helped a little but not Much
It seems to be varying in intensity as well, when it moves to the front it seems to be coming through my hips.

DD labour was 5 hours from water breaking to delivery but DS was 12 hours and waters didn't break until the end and tbh I didn't even know I was in active labour Confused

I'll go for a bath now and see how i feel after that

My labour with 3rd started as period pains in back that went to front, it started at 37+1 like this and I had him 38+0. My first 2 was late and 3rd. Was 2 week early. Good luck x

My 3rd started with back ache at 40 weeks exactly tho, had back ache all day the waters broke but nothing happened so went on the drip- all of them have been like that.

My baby was back-to-back and labour started with awful back pain which only got worse...Good luck

Well nothing come of it so far, had a bath which seemed to ease it and no further pain last night. Still having slight period pains in and off but nothing major so will just watch this space!

When I was pregnant with ds1 I had lower back pain for 2 days when I was 37 weeks then my waters broke and all my contractions were at my lower back. Was in full active labour for over 2 days :) I would keep monitoring as your previous labours seem quite quick.

Hope all goes well x
