Waters have broken... waiting for something to happen......

Hello,

My waters broke at 7.30ish this morning, I have been to see the mw and was told it is my hind waters. I have until 7.30am tomorrow morning to get contractions going and my baby moving or I will have to travel to another hosp over an hour away to be induced. I would love to be able to go to our local mlu so would like as much support as possible to get things moving along! All suggestions welcome! Thanks xx

I was in the same situation with my third - only one where my waters broke ahead of the birth. I spent the day waiting for labour to start, and though it did (just) get going, it was after the 24 hours window, so I/we needed antibiotics. My learning point would be to insist on this the moment you get to hospital - my midwives waited and then there was a shift change, and then there wasn't time before she was born. Which meant antibiotics for her and me for the next 12 hours - so that's something I'd definitely ask about if I was you. Good luck OP.
